  1. Holy paladin is incredible imo. Resto druid is very underwhelming currently, and the stuff that was good about it was just nerf... err.. corrected... again, so much so that using innervate on yourself is a no-no.

    Weird Hunter Stuff

It was obviously what was happening here. He had scouted the max range, and when the pet got attacked he moved it past that, then resummoned it with Call Pet. Git gud.

    Most played class?

Classes are one thing but whatever you do DO NOT make it a human (if ally) or undead(/orc) (if horde). I play ally and all I see is humans humans humans, and every horde enemy seems to be either an orc warrior or undead mage. It's super messed up.. I mean what's the point of rolling even the priests as humans? C'mon Dwarf and Gnome racials and looks ROCK, yet people roll inferior humans even for no brainer classes like lock/mage (+5% int for gnome) and priest (don't even need to explain dwarf).

How do Hunters do in PvP?

If you play on Elysium and get Lupos for a pet you will destroy every heavily armored class even if you suck azz. And when it comes to the casters, they are meat for a hunter anyway just viper sting and run until they're oom then it's GG, or if you're BM don't bother just Lupos+Beastial Wrath and it's GG. Hunter is the best class for pvp
  5. They're talking about merging Zeth'Kur with the other servers now but this is starting to become as big of a problem as that one. The recent population lows of 600-700 here at anti-peak times are barely over Zeth'Kur's. 3 months ago the population "average" was 2000, now it's 1000. That's a staggering downhill for a server smallest of the three (Anathema/Ely/Darr). I'm not saying merge but... merge?

    alliance tank question

There's not much difference, the differences are marginal compared to Horde side where Tauren has the clear advantage with the +5% hp racial. Sure NE is the best for tank with the dodge racial, and Stoneform ain't too shabby either but I haven't really missed either on my human warrior. But yes generally speaking in raids you have tons of rage to spare so you use a fast Dagger to get off as many Heroic Strikes as quickly as possible for maximum TPS. As such the raid TPS is not really affected by your race. In 5-man dungeons however as a tank the +5 swords/maces is excellent since it gives you +2% hit with those weapons. It's also absolute game changing if you are a fury warrior, human is pretty much your only reasonable choice for race then.

Healing in 5 man dungeons (not raids)

I usually throw a Regrowth+Rejuv on the tank early on in the fight and then use the various ranks of HT for the rest of the fight. If you're lagging or some dps pulls aggro and takes some huge dmg then NS+Healing Touch is your "shield", unfortunately NS does have several minute cooldown - so throw a regrowth if it's not up. Honestly the higher ranks of HT have quite a long cast time so I find myself using Regrowth more than would probably be wise in regards to mana efficiency, otoh it also has a totally crazy crit chance if you're full resto which is exceptionally nice. Also having some HoTs on people is important if you have Swiftmend, altho I almost never use Swiftmend builds. Only having a one off battle rez is a pain, but, well, try not to let people die and if they do just tell em to run back... It's no biggie 99% of the time - just a minor inconvenience. Alternatively try to group with paladins as often as possible. (Also not having a general rez is a major plus during progression raids: you don't have to spend half the raid rezzing people! win-win)
  8. You are mistaken, it is in fact 1h and 2h.

    Buff Ironfoe's proc

Not a good idea. The higher proc chance on Ironfoe would make it too OP. Just leave it to warriors. Rogues have other better and relatively easy to obtain options as you point out.
  10. I wouldn't recommend doing that quest. It's a major waste of time. You can instead get Thermaplugg's axe from Gnomeregan which is nearly as good with very little trouble (unless you are extremely unlucky with drops). You get Bonebiter in a few levels from there anyway so why waste time running all over Azeroth for the WW quest when the weap has like 3 more dps than the one from Gnomeregan?
  11. There's no easy way to get gear really, apart from running dungeons, so that is highly recommended. If you buy gear occasionally then prioritize weapons over any other gear. For example weapons like Executioner's Cleaver or Warmonger are decent investments that will last you a long while if you buy them at their min. lvl. Here's some other weapons you want to aim for while leveling that make life much easier for you that you don't need to use your gold to get: Smite's Mighty Hammer from Deadmines at around L18-22, will last you till close to 30 or so. Alternatively Cruel Barb from the same dungeon for a 1-hander if you feel too vulnerable running around without a shield at that level. RFK has a really sick axe waiting for you at L30: Corpsemaker OR from Gnomeregan at around the same level Thermaplugg's Left Arm. A quest in Scarlet Monastery at around L36+ will net you the weapon you'll want to use until you get Executioners or Warmonger, that is to say the Bonebiter

Warrior a good idea for first class back?

It's the worst "first class" to roll when not quite familiar with the content and just in general anyway, since it tends to be a class that sucks your gold out like a black hole. Repairs cost a lot and as the tank you die the most. Gear and skills cost a lot and you need them more than almost any other class. Tanking takes the most focus in groups and you generally speaking need to know where to go and what to pull etc. Leveling a warrior is also like changing the game difficulty to "hard" since at least until you get Piercing Howl from Fury you are extremely susceptible to dying if you get even one add while out questing. Your dps is also horrible compared to almost any other class until you really start to gear up at 60. Often overlooked is also the fact that as a warrior you get absolutely no travel speed boosts whatsoever during the earlier levels and you're the most likely class to be totally broke at L40 and thus can't even buy the mount right away. Druid gets cat speed boost talent and travel form, shammy gets ghost wolf, hunter gets aspect of cheetah, mages can spam blink... Pala, lock also slowmode at first but at least get free mount at 40. Roll a mage, hunter, druid (if you wanna occasionally tank) or something of the sort first and play it to 60. Maybe rogue if you like to pvp a lot.

Going Prot at 58 - hindsight is a beautiful thing.

Revenge is low dmg but it has a wonderful dynamic with taking less damage through Shield Block while using it. Honestly just straight up saving rage for Shield Slam does do more damage though... But on the other hand since you're already gimped on damage anyway, why not take advantage of the extremely high defensive capabilities to minimize downtime?

Going Prot at 58 - hindsight is a beautiful thing.

It's obviously suboptimal dps but if you fight mostly melee mobs just use Shield Block -> Revenge -> Shield Block -> Revenge rotation... and it actually goes rather smoothly and generally speaking you take almost no damage so you can keep going very long. The dps is less but the damage taken is much less also. I was prot from 55 on since I played alts a lot at that point when I wasn't running dungeons, so there was really no reason to not be prot. And honestly it wasn't THAT bad or slow out in the open world questing. In pvp it's totally hopeless though, you can't own anyone.

    BRD XP Farming 50-60?

It's hard in the low 50's. Do it a bit later. Grind 50-55 at some nice, peaceful corner in Felwood, Un'Goro or wherever.
  16. Pwnana

    Tanking at 60

This actually depends a lot on positioning. Battle Shout gives decent threat only if pretty much the entire group gets the buff. I often find that I'm only buffing like the Rogue in the group with it unless I'm really paying attention. In that case it is almost totally worthless for threat.

    Windserpent vs cat/raptor DPS

So, which one is the highest dps? Windserpent appears to be superior at least during leveling since Lightning Breath hits for max damage and starts the attack much sooner than cat at 20yd while cat's Claw gets 20-40% shaved off the damage by armor each time, and the white dps is almost equal (+7% windserpent, +10% cat/raptor) However pre-ZG the max rank of Lightning Breath is only 5 (learnable at L48), while the max rank of Claw you can learn is L56 skill. So I'm guessing their dps at 60 (or post-56) is almost equal, while pre-60 the windserpent is consistently higher dps. But I don't have a 60 hunter to test this. Has anyone else tested them at 60 for conclusive results? Pls don't say LUPOS FUTUWU because it's a so heavily camped that 90% of people won't bother investing the time needed (days) to get it...

    Returning, can't choose!

That's not really so much of a reason to skip Elysium, since most of the pvp encounters are just your run of the mill gankers coming to get ya, so it's not likely that anyone else really "survives" the pvp encounters either, hehe. I've played on ZK, Darrowshire and Elysium and it is a nightmare to find group for dungeons on the first two and oftentimes it is not even possible. On Elysium you can literally find a group for nearly any dungeon and in a rather fast manner - even Wailing Caverns as Alliance! This afffects your gaming experience ___much___ more than the random World PvP, which I admit can be somewhat frustrating for the more carebearish players especially in the most popular leveling zones. However, not being able to run the dungeons you'd normally run while leveling and sometimes even at 60 is a much bigger issue. On the other hand, since Zeth'Kur is low population and soon merging with Elysium now would be a great time to start leveling there and getting past the most intense zones on the PvP servers there before the merge, like Stranglethorn Vale, Arathi Highlands and possibly even Tanaris.

    This community is absolute cancer

Or, you know, instead of getting so intensely frustrated by people who don't necessarily even speak english and the random teenage edgelords that exist in abundance in any large gaming community trolling you/your groups, maybe you could've joined an active social guild, made some friends and had a great and relaxing time playing the game?

Lupos Taming Guide - (Elysium Only)

For people who think that it's now easier to get the tame for alt hunters on ZK, since the servers are merging, there's some bad news. A guy called Biggons is either killing Lupos or you at the spawn intervals which are constant on ZK since pop < 2500. Looking back at messages in this thread apparently he has been doing it on/off for a long time. Basically if you try to tame Lupos he comes with his various hunters on the spawn locations and kills Lupos. Great guy. Hard to say if he is trying to tame it for himself on a great multitude of hunters for purposes of selling the accounts or w/e he is doing. Nonetheless it does make it exceptionally hard to get the tame when he doesn't just note the time of the tames but actually kills Lupos if it is being tamed by someone else.

    Returning, can't choose!

Hunter! Send in the pet and blast away. It's the most "stress-and-hurry"-free class. Alternatively Warlock for caster version, but alas their pets are quite a bit weaker and worse at holding monsters aggro than hunter pets, so it's not quite as smooth sailing. I would also recommend the Elysium realm since Darrowshire is significantly underpopulated (imo) making it hard to find groups for anything or socialize
  22. It's not even close to 50/50 rn and it's especially notable, to the obvious detriment of the allys, in the popular questing areas which have much more horde than alliance at almost any time of the day. Often there's almost one third more horde online than alliance.

    Warrior VS bubbles

Facing a priest Bloodrage and/or Berserker Rage (if appropriate) at this point. It's an extremely disadvantageous situation but honestly the shields don't absorb that much damage so you just have to writhe it out. Stack stamina and you won't lose 50% of your hp during it. Mage is another story altogether. Mana Shield has no cooldown and usually they tend to have it up all the time when Ice Barrier isn't up. The best case scenario is that you hit so hard that they don't have enough mana to kill you anymore. But usually they will.

    2Handed warrior specc?

In the stickie thread right at the beginning there is a good 2h fury spec which I would recommend (20/31). For a more PvP oriented 2h spec there is the full Arms spec 31/20/0

    Was Princess Theradras buffed?

Alternatively you can have max nature resist on the pet and not have to worry about recalling it when Princess' farts or really during the entire fight if you're BM.
