Elysium had an old backup of all characters before they shutdown the servers, so I would think so, yes. I believe they said there would be some rollback, about 4 weeks or so. They aren't providing many details really. Guess you will know for sure tomorrow....

Your characters are on this project also. When the big drama happened last year, Light's Hope took a copy of the database with them.

You got a corrupted file in your client. Gotta start over with a fresh one.

If the realmlist file is setup properly and you're still getting an instant disconnected from server message, then the client you are using is either corrupt or not on the right version (1.12.1). Need to start over with a fresh one.

It's possible your account was compromised while you were away. If so, you'll need to put in a ban appeal.

Oh yeah at that point it will be completely dead, but if it makes you feel any better, the staff hinted at possibly releasing another vanilla realm sometime in the future.

If we're going to be candid, most of those players moved to Light's Hope and played their characters on that project last year after the big drama, until they released their fresh realm recently. There may be a few that return (mostly those that just came back from a nearly year long exodus), but not enough to bolster the population in any significant way. To the OP - This was expected. The two other current major Vanilla realm projects recently launched fresh realms, so most players migrated there. Also, as a Vanilla server moves along in its development timeline, that server loses players. I'm sorry to say that the population will likely continue to decrease as we move onto the final Naxx patch. Only the upcoming Burning Crusade project will have a chance of revitalizing the community here, depending on how well it is scripted and such.

What's the time stamp on these characters? The day the servers went down when Light's Hope/Elysium drama happened? Or a month or so before that, when Crogge said that was the only backups he had?

Welcome back from hibernation. Nighthaven was launched as a fresh server after lots of drama last year. Your old characters are safe but stored away, you can play them on August 15th.

An instant "disconnected from server" message usually means your realmlist file is not setup properly, so make sure that is correct. Another problem could be a corrupt client, or a client not on the correct patch (1.12.1)

That's a fantastic way to get people to stop playing on this project... already tons of competition, what's the purpose of chasing people even further away?

I mean you're complaining to the wrong people, Nost was a completely different realm and this happened nearly 2 years ago mate. The transfers they offered at the time was a courtesy. Their developers are gone now and so is the realm. Nothing can be done.

If you didn't transfer your Nost character during the 2-3 day window that transfers were available, then it's gone for good.

Nah, they shut down voluntarily. Did so under the pretense of Blizzard allowing them to fly in and sell their idea of vanilla servers. But they were never in legal jeopardy due to how the EU laws work. Cease and Desist letters are just thrown in the trash.

Did you transfer your character from Nost to Elysium during the window in late 2016? If not, then it's gone for good. If you did, and it was moved to Anathema or Darrowshire, then it's still gone but at some point in the future they'll be able to be transferred to Nighthaven, just don't know when.

If you're talking about the character you had back in 2016 before Nost shut down, I'm afraid that's gone for good. There was a period of time where they allowed transfers to Elysium, but it was only for a few days, and is now long gone...

In Vanilla, you get a 10% discount for being Honored, and a 10% discount for being Rank 3 PvP. Being revered or exalted doesn't reduce the price any further. That wasn't implemented until late Burning Crusade.

You missed quite a bit of drama mate. Suffice to say, everyone lost access to their characters last October. This project launched a new realm called "Nighthaven" and stored all the other servers away. Now, there is talk of allowing your characters to transfer to that realm at some point, but we don't know when it will happen. So for now, all you can really do is start a new character, or wait.

It's very difficult to understand what you are asking, your autotranslate is not good... are you upset that higher levels are ganking you? That's part of a PvP server....

The server tries to aim to be as "blizzlike" as possible, I'm not sure if they would even consider such a change. But who knows!
