Anathema was merged into a new realm named Stratholme. Nighthaven will have priority when transferring to the TBC realm. It is likely Stratholme will be allowed to transfer to the TBC realm but Nighthaven would have priority for character names.

Paid name change is one of the things we are discussing for the future. I do not have an ETA for availability.

If you are on the same computer you used before to log in, you may be able to find your account name by going into the game directory and then look in the "WTF" folder. This is where the game saves your settings to a sub folder that contains your account name. With that said, we do not give out account names.

As far as I know Blizzard has not yet announced any dates for classic, so I am not sure how long people have before they release. Population is healthy - retail blizzard servers had somewhere around 2500 users at peek times. We have more than that at our peek, I can't speak to your timezone however because I am not playing then. Good to meet you and give it a try!

If you played on a previous realm such as Elysium, Darrowshire or Anathema those realms were merged into a single realm named Stratholme. The user base of Stratholme voted and wanted a new, fresh server. The elysium project launched this fresh server, named Nighthaven PVP on November 5th, 2017. Nighthaven being a fresh realm, everyone re-rolled and it is not available for character restores or transfers from other realms. The players switched to this new fresh server and the population of Stratholme was only around 300 users at peak times. Because of the low player count, the elysium project moved Stratholme offline as it was not sustainable with such a low population. All your previous characters are still safe and stored there but will be unplayable until Nighthaven has completed its fast patch progression. You will have to reroll to the Nighthaven server to continue to play on the Elysium project.

I don't know if the decision is made yet about those accounts staying vanilla, you are the first one to ever ask me. I believe the intent is to keep Nighthaven going as our vanilla server. I will ask if when we release TBC if Stratholme characters can stay vanilla and transfer to Nighthaven at that time.

The file itself is in the World of Warcraft root directory, if your question was where you find the file itself. Make sure your install of WoW 1.12.1 is either on your desktop or any hard drive that doesn't contain your windows installation. Sometimes installing to a windows directory causes it not to work.

Your old characters are still saved there, its just offline until Nighthaven is finished with patch progression in about a year. At that time we will launch a Burning Crusade expansion server and you will be able to transfer all of your old characters to the new server. Nighthaven is a fresh server and does not support any character restores or transfers.

Yes, you must reroll for Nighthaven. Correct your old characters are not playable at the moment. Incorrect, they will be playable in about a year when Nighthaven is finished with vanilla patch progression and we launch our Burning Crusade realm. You will be able to transfer from Stratholme to the TBC realm and play your old characters.

The current elysium project server, Nighthaven is a fresh fast progression realm where everyone has re-rolled. It does not support any character transfers or restores. Your previous character from the Elysium server was merged into a new server named Stratholme along with all the characters from Anathema and Darrowshire servers. After Nighthaven was launched the community switched to Nighthaven leaving Stratholme with a population around 300 at peak times. This made the server unplayable so the server was then moved offline. Your character is still saved on this offline server and we will make them available for transfer to our Burning Crusade expansion server in about a year to make them all playable again.

We ban gold sellers, buyers and scammers every day from Nighthaven. We even have server messages that go out warning against these types of scams. You have to protect your account and always remember that if something is too good to be true, or something is "free" then it normally is too good to be true or you are the product.

We ban gold sellers as well as gold buyers on a daily basis, based on not only GM's watching out for them but also users reporting the accounts to the GM team through the ticket system. There are several measures in place but unfortunately its a a never ending game to them as they just code bots that far outnumber our volunteer team. We put in a new measure to catch them -> they create a new way around it -> repeat.

You made a game account AND a forum account correct? They are different accounts and not linked.

The two most common things when this happens is that while your realmslist.wtf text is correctly set to "set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org" it adds an extra space to the start or end that can make it give you a logon error. The other is not activating your account. Above you said no activation email ever came, did you also check your trash/spam folders for the activation email? it will not work without it.

You need to download any 1.12.1 vanilla WoW client. Then you have to go to the install folder and find your realmlist.wtf file and delete everything in it. Then replace with 1 line only that says "set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org" without the quotes and ensure you don't have extra spaces at the start or end. save the realmlist.wtf file again and then try the WoW.exe and log in. With the above said, if you have not played here in a while, you may have to create a brand new account as our current project server is Nighthaven PVP.

The intent of the project is to stay as true to blizzard mechanics as possible. Which will mean flying.

The GM ticket queue is always filled with reports and we take action against all of those accounts and take additional measures to try and ban and hinder those accounts. There comes a point where actions to prevent gold spam negatively impacts the experience for the rest of the community (such as unable to speak below level 10). It's a computerized game of cat an mouse where we implement something to stop them -> they create a way around it -> repeat.

You have not edited your realmlist.wtf file. Edit it to only have 1 line that reads "set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org" without the quotes and ensure you don't have any additional spaces in it.

After the release of the Nighthaven server, nearly the entire user base of Stratholme re-rolled fresh on Nighthaven. The Stratholme server was unplayable so it was saved and moved offline for now.
