Few Questions

Recommended Posts

Will Elysium's support section, bug tracker, and ban list be in all English? I know a few pservers which are international but still do their bug tracker, banlists and some support in their Native language(ex all in polish).

Just wanted to make sure it will be supported 100% in English in those terms. Also will the AH's be separated by factions or will it all be dumped into one?

Greetings, Xopo!

Everything regarding Elysium will be in English, including the things you have mentioned, but we will allow people to play with foreign clients (who are meant to streamline the gaming experience by translating game information in the language they have been assigned to). The Auction House will most likely function is a Blizzlike fashion: There will probably be one Auction House for each faction, and a neutral one, which players from both factions will be able to access.

Sincerely, Queeky.

Hi Xopo,

In addition to Queeky's comments, we also have overall project information that applies to both the Elysium and the Valkyrie realms regularly posted here - https://elysium-project.org/forum/index.php?showforum=85

For the moment most of what's posted there will be posted in both languages, however, if players dislike this or find it unappealing, we're happy to seperate them so that there's an English only view of what's going on.

I'll add my questions to this thread rather than create a new one.

1) Other 1.12.1 private server projects become flooded with Chinese farming players if the server(s) become successful. These players that solely play for the purpose of making a living disrupt resource node gathering as well as PvP battlegrounds with 'afk honor gains' and ranking character accounts up for pay.

Is the staff going to make an effort with the assistance of the players to track this damaging form of behavior, and if so, is the staff prepared to take measures such as regional ISP blocking as well as proxy / VPN blocking as well?

2) Battleground PvP on other 1.12.1 server projects is highly exploitable for players to join as a raid group for a BG and drop if they discover that they are entering a BG that will be facing a 'pre made' enemy group, in an effort to always seek an advantage. In this case, it's a pretty large advantage too. This leads to players not wanting to bother to enter Battlegrounds as single players using the queue, because with such a system in place, they feel that they will simply be stomped and farmed repeatedly unless they 'cherry pick' battlegrounds in their own pre made groups.

Does the staff recognize the above situation as a problem that is unhealthy for the PvP aspect of the server, and if so, does the staff have ideas to improve PvP battleground entry for casual players to be a worthy activity?

3) People going AFK in battlegrounds intentionally. Will this be an offense that if it is recorded and reported, will lead to a ban for the player entering the Battleground and going AFK?

4) Anti-Cheats / Botting. This is a big one. I understand that the server staff can't reveal the exact methods and technology that they possess for catching exploiters and people wanting to cheat in the game, but my question is this. Is the staff confident that they are ready to face off against problem players that have honed their skills from cheating in other 1.12.1 server projects?

5) Multiboxing. Will players be allowed to run multiple player characters using multiple accounts run as a single person? If so, is this project going to allow automated software / keyclone methods for playing multiple characters? A follow up question - will a person running multiple characters in a multibox situation be able to engage in PvP as either an attacker or a defender of a single character played by one person?

Thanks in advance for the answers, and for wanting to run the project.

I want to add my own questions:

- What is the stance on confirmed vanilla bugs? As an example, farming DM North as a hunter solo was possible during some part of vanilla WoW, but this was patched at some point during vanilla. Will those bugs be left in intentionally or will they be removed?

- Which degree of accuracy can we expect for the intricate spell and attack detail mechanics. Other servers in the past have resorted using approximations to the hit formula which changed how good certain items are. To that extend I specifically want to ask about the weapon skill formula that will be in use.

- Will the PVP gear be pre- or post-buff? The rare and epic PVP set was significantly buffed in 1.11.0, but as far as content goes, the server will be on 1.8.0 or lower, as AQ wouldn't be available on release, which came out on 1.9.0.

- Will Alterac Valley be in its pre- or post-nerf state?

- Should the population of the server surpass vanilla classic server levels (~2500), would spawnrates for herbs and ores be dynamically increased to counter the increase in population

- Will gear follow the patch progression as well? When the server releases on 1.8.0, will gear also be on 1.8.0 level?

- What will the stance on server nomad guilds and their less ethical ways of achieving first-kills? A lession of history: Certain guilds tend to compete for server first kills on all new vanilla private realms. There is nothing wrong with this in and of itself. The problem stems from them willing to abuse every single bug and exploit they can find to gain a speed advantage. I'm wondering what the stance is on this problem?

Thanks in advance for the answers. Looking forward to the server.

Redcap brought up several good points. Just to add my 1 cent on an issue I have definitely witnessed first hand. The BG dodging thing. I've seen it ruin PvP on several servers. Exploiting the BG queue should not be allowed.

There's actually multiple layers of exploits due to the queue at work here.

First you have full premades queue dodging other full premades, this can either be done through multiqueing (queueing for 2 battlegrounds and picking the one without an enemy premade) or through seperating groups into a number of 5 mans and counting down.

The ideal battleground system matches solo players exclusively with other solo players, so every Warsong is 20 solo players 10v10. Then it matches partial groups with partial groups. So every Warson would be for example 2 5mans vs a 4 man a 3 man and a 3 man. Finally it matches full premades exclusively with full premades. So it will be 10 man premade vs 10 man premade.

1) We will not be blocking regions as we have a desire to expand our international community. That said, we will certainly be watching out for this sort of behavior and suspending accounts that do this as we discover them. You can assist us by submitting a ticket, where one of our Game Masters will investigate.

2) We don't have an answer yet, and we'd like to see the effects for ourselves once Elysium has launched. If it continues being a problem, we'll look into possible fixes. If it's something that players feel is a problem, we'll actively seek to remedy it. You can contribute by sending your ideas to me directly, where I will be able to translate and forward them to our administration as needed.

3) We actively punish players that do this on the main realm, and we intend to extend this policy to Elysium.

4) We're very confident in our anti-cheats detection methods. Not only that, but we will also have plenty of staff monitoring the game world manually to ensure fair play. If something does slip down the cracks, please report it by submitting a ticket. A Game Master will pick it up as soon as they can and investigate.

5) Multiboxing will not be allowed on Elysium. This said, multiboxing is allowed on the Valkyrie (RU) realm.

1) These bugs have been left alone for now, though the developers are toying with the thought of fixing them. I'm personally unsure on whether this is good or bad, so I'll be monitoring the community for feedback on this.

2) We've aimed to make all of our attack and spell details as close to vanilla as we possibly can, and our developers have been very careful in replicating them. Over seven years of careful research and meticiulous data scanning has gone into it. I can't comment on how they work on the backend, though.

3 & 4) Everything on Valkyrie, and by extension, Elysium, is focused entirely on 1.12.1 content.

5) Players who exploit bugs or glitches will be impartially investigated and punished, regardless of their intent.

Chinese players are regularly blocked. And also for such violation. In the near future we are planning to get a Chinese Language GM.

Will Warlocks get their Rank 4 Drain Mana? Cause all the trainers seems to be missing it in Valkyrie.

Today there was a tauren warrior named LISJ on Elysium 'Nostlarius pvp' server.  He was afk in bgs all afternoon and night.  He would just jump every few seconds and stay in the graveyard, makes me think he's botting.  I include the screenshots.  Please permamently ban botters. I include link to screenshots http://imgur.com/a/laAW5   Here's short video proof too
