That Druid 6 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 Popular vanilla servers show that many people tend to join premades and dodge other premades of the opposite faction in order to recieve more honor. That happens because of how time consuming it is to fight a decent enemy. You will recieve much more honor during the same period of time by fighting a weaker team and on rare occasions simply by letting the stronger enemy win - not sure what kind of honor it is. This is how it worked on Nostalrius: - Premade (9ppl for example) joins group queue for both AB and WSG - Invite for battleground #1 pops up and one or few "scouts" from premade enter this battleground - In case the scouts see other scouts or good premade they can decide to wait for battleground #2 invite to pop up and check if it's safe there - If they left battleground #1 there is always one member of premade near battlemasters to make the scouts queued for batlleground #1 again - Thus scouts can jump between battleground untill they find a weak enemy team, then the rest of premade can join And there were some variations and exceptions in this scheme. As the result we could see overpowered comps on both sides with gear and communication (1,35-1,5kk++ honor per week) farming random undergeared people of opposite faction (0,15-0,4kk honor per week). And it was a god blessing for a "weak" team to find and fight the similar opponents. What do you think about this? I don't know how it's working on Valkyrie if you even consider this to be a problem. I'm especially interested in opinion of game masters, developers and server administration :^)
Xudojnik 904 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Theoretically, on valkyrie there is an option to stop xp on 59 and to go 50-59. There are no r14 and t2 guys. Noone use it though, but there are other reasons. Edited August 15, 2016 by Xudojnik
Kadir 136 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 Main difference between Nost and Valkyrie was shorter time for closing bg without enough team members on oposing side, just 2 minutes here and 5 on Nost. This way it didnt prove to be good strategy to form too strong premade cause ppl would just leave and you would get no honor. Fighting against empty bg was not possible here. Simply too litle time. So some sort of "half-premades" (party for progressing in ranks) were introduced to have a good healthy party capable of winning, yet not to scare oposing faction off battlegrounds. Good enough for steady honor farming but not totally outclassing anyone in terms of gear or buffs. Flasked premades existed here too, but their purpose was not to dodge, to find the most empty bg, but to break too victorious "half-premades" or fight other premades and create films promoting server. Guild Hordecore produced couple of them. You see, 2 minutes for closing bg means that creating a party that can overpower anyone doesnt make sence for regular farming of honor. Cause you need the oponents who will agree to fight against you Means fair fight is needed to win.

I've never seen such an approach before and wonder how it turns out with a lot of people fighting for ranks during the first few months.
Enhancement 12 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 Dodging is pathetic and I support anything (no matter how unblizzlike) that discourages or prevents it.
