Screen freezes

Recommended Posts

I get freezes, but they just completely lock up the client and it never responds.

Seriously, I let it sit for 5 minutes and it just never un-froze.

Even when I set view distance to medium, it still happens.

In just this one BRD run, I got five freezes, two of them causing wipes.

Same problem here, i can confirm too (other servers works well), it's a server problem.

No, it is not a server problem. It's a problem related to your PC. Your PC sucks.

Here's my PC's stats:

Intel i5-6600K [email protected] GHz.

Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming@Stock

Asus Maximus VIII Hero

Silverstone Strider Gold 850W PSU

16GB RAM (G.SKILL 2800 MHz)

No freezes, no lag, no stutters.

Get a better PC or overclock your CPU.

My PC is not a top end PC.

A top end PC has got 2 or 3 X1080's in SLI, an X99 motherboard and an extreme 6 core Processor.

Your PC sucks. Learn to overclock your CPU.

P.S.: You should not use a laptop to play an MMORG game and expect to get decent performance.

m8

I think a 3.5ghz quad core processor + GTX 970 is enough to play a 2004 game

You are a n00b.

Your GPU is irrelevant in WoW Vanilla. You can play WoW Vanilla with a 2005 8800GT GPU.

All it matters in Vanilla is Single Thread performance because the game runs on a SINGLE THREAD.

Your CPU fails in single thread performance, something common with lame AMD CPU's or old Intel CPU's from 2009 and back.

Overclock your CPU if you can and if you can't go grab a desktop system with a cheap Intel Pentium G3258 and overclock it to 4.2 GHz+ or so.

My CPU is from 2015, m8.

:)

Your unironic usage of "n00b" combined with repeated claims of requiring a high-end 2016 computer to play a 2004 game confirms that you're baiting.

To the ignore list you go. Here's your reply.

It doesn't matter if your CPU is from 2015 or 2016. It can still have insufficient single thread performance, which is why you are getting all these performance issues and the vast majority of the playerbase don't.

Overclock your CPU.

If you read ALL posts you can read about ramdom stutters and screen freezes for a sec ONLY with ELYSIUM, not other servers.

We don't need about "this is my super pc"

We need an admin response to this problem, so, don't offtopic.

What "all those posts" are you referring to? There are over 100,000 players playing here, yet I only see a handful of posts complaining about performance issues.

Were you to post your CPU's make and model, it'd be either an AMD CPU, an old Intel CPU, or a newish Intel CPU onboard a laptop or an Intel CPU with insufficient single-thread performance.

Overclock your CPU or get an overclockable CPU on a desktop system. There's nothing wrong with the server.

No, it is you who doesn't understand anything about computers. I tried to explain but you refuse to understand.

You are like those navigators who were on the wrong course, but they were claiming that the sea is skewed so this is why they are not where they are supposed to be.

The sea ain't slant. You suck at it.

Could be tons of things.

Right click on wow.exe and make sure you're operating as administrator.  Then right click on wow.exe. Select> troubleshoot compatibility. Select> try recommended settings. Select> start the Program.

It could Be DirectX.  Refer to Pottu's post about it.

It could be your video drivers, update them.

Limiting framerate to 64 Hz and force 64 Hz in monitor solves some cases.

In my case as i did before, if i play in another server diferent to Elysium or Nostalrius in past, there is 0 lagging problem

Hi.

Vsync enabled, if i disable it stutter appears (horrible)

I need to test WoW in other computer, but i remember same problem in a AMD 4000+ single core with a GPU Nvidia with some year old but sufficent to play WoW when Nostalrius exist.

AMD 4000+ single core

This is your problem. You have a single-core 2005 CPU.

I used to own a PC with a single-core Northwood Pentium 4, which was the first PC I played WoW on back in 2005.

With a CPU like this, you can only quest and maybe do 5 mans if you are lucky. You can't raid and you will lag substantially when there are many players around you.

The only solution is to disable VSYNC and use an alternate software to control FPS such as EVGA PRECISION 4 & Riva Tuner Statistics Server. Overlocking your CPU as much as possible will help too.

Don't overclock your GPU as you won't gain anything out of it unless you have a 2005 GPU as well.

I suspect your issue is caused by enabled VSYNC b/c we have had other ppl here too with the same issue, and it went away when they disabled VSYNC.
