Larkin24 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) Ok as your leveling it only recorded the quest your accept and the quest your completing in a text file like CensusPlus does, would that be possible in the questie addon to do that? Queste addon would import or export other users guides. Just a thought let me know @Aero or @Dyaxler Thanks for all your hard work. Teneko 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2017 (edited) Questie version: 3.69 Recently started playing Vanilla and Questie was the first AddOn I installed. It worked ok, but seemed a little flaky (quest log position would randomly move, ! shows up on the minimap for quests that don't exist). I decided to install Titan Panel and Elkano's Buff Bars, and now Questie will NOT show the quest log at all on any characters. The minimap tracker still shows, but I can't get the quest tracker, even if I try /questie clearconfig and /questie cleartracker. What's interesting is that now even on a NEW character with ONLY the Questie mod enabled, I am seeing the following error after trying the clear commands: "ERROR! Database Detected!" Any ideas what's going on here? Thanks! -T. Edited February 7, 2017 by Teneko Added Questie version.
Timic83 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2017 There used to be the menu on the right showing almost every quest, now it only shows one rarely and zero most of the time! Using Questie 3.69

Timic83 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) I can't see the quest list on the right at all, please someone help. *Also called the Quest Tracker. It's completely dissapeared now, the minimap is fine tho Edited February 8, 2017 by Timic83
Teneko 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2017 Not sure exactly what caused my problem, but the Questie folks helped me figure it out on GitHub. I installed the Extended QuestLog AddOn and used its options to display the tracker. Be sure to check off the boxes to Add New Quests to Tracker, and Add Untracked Quests on Progress. Not sure why just plain Questie wasn't displaying the quests for me. Probably some checkbox somewhere I missed. EQL3 gives me a better quest log anyway. Dyaxler 9 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 A little update... we've been hard at work adding some new features for the 3.70 release. Just a couple highlights... * Improved Starter/Finisher/Objective icon clustering. (only on the Worldmap - minimap remains untouched as a source for a more precise location of map markers) * Quest Chat Links! Questie will now support Shagu's implementation and you'll be able to view Quest Links sent to chat by either AddOn. Questie pulls quest info directly from it's own database instead of the Quest Log so it won't matter if you're on the quest or not. You'll see all the quest info. I have plans to improve the output for CTRL + Click (quest progress) but I'm not sure if it'll make it into the next release. I might just dress up the text and make it more readable. * Improved Tooltips! Better info. Better stacking. Just plain better. * We've made significant strides in improving the Questing system. Some of the Quest object types that start quests were broken. We're hoping this will reduce the number of complaints about missing quests. * TONS of bug fixes...
Musmatta 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 Well it has stopped tracking quests for me aswell, objectives not showing up on world map nor can i track them. This happend to me before 3.69 (i had 3.6x something) so i downloaded 3.69 but that did not help my problem. I even tried to reinstal wow client, questie, deleted WTF and WDB folders but nothing helps.... Anyways, looking forward to 3.70, hope it will fix my problem :)
Dyaxler 9 Report post Posted February 9, 2017 Elysium went down for maintenance one evening so I logged into another project to test some stuff and Questie wasn't working quite right... I was getting similar nil errors that others have said was occurring. I forgot to clear my WDB folder. I really need to hear more details about that is going on. Sounds like an "edge case" issue. If it was a bigger problem we'd have a lot more complaints flooding GitHub. Saying that it doesn't work doesn't help. :(
hoseinstyx 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2017 Hello Thank you for such great work , my question Is : How can I replace new version (3.69) instead of previous versions . Is it safe to shift delete previous questie version in addons folder and paste new one ? There should be only a single folder in your Interface/AddOns/ directory for each AddOn installed. If you install a new version, it should replace the existing one. This would be the same for pretty much any AddOn. In Questie's case, the folder is called: !Questie I suppose if you want to do a clean install of the new version, you could rename / delete that directory as well as any associated saved files under WTF. I usually just install over the top of old versions, unless I have a problem. -T.
eboe 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Is there a list of other quest related addons that cause issues with questie? Because I've noticed sometimes that my tracker disappears and requires a UI reload to come bak, and I'm not sure exactly what might be causing that? I can see that the addon QuestLevels seems to remove quests from the tracker when you have completed all of the objectives, but I'm not sure if the functionality is duplicated fully in questie, where it colors the quests to your level, similar to how it does on live? I also have QuestHistory and QuestLoot installed, and TitanQuests but I dont think that would be causing issues. I just noticed that QuestLevels is literally from March 2005... so who knows if it's causing the issues. I believe it is version 0.3 QuestHistory and QuestItem don't seem like they could be culprits as they don't appear to mess with the tracker at all. TitanQuest does add and remove from the tracker but it appears to do so manually.
ZOMGitsRadimus 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) I'm having an issue where the quest marks (or mapnotes) aren't showing up on the main map or mini map. I've got the latest version and have used several of the /questie commands to no avail. I'll note that on the map, where a quest marker should be, that quest info will show up; however, again, I gotta search for them by randomly waving my mouse around the map until I find it. DISREGARD! FIXED! AM IDIOT! Edited March 3, 2017 by ZOMGitsRadimus Add more info.
Randall 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) Hi, I have a problem whereby when I try and drop a quest it often tries to drop a different one, thus leading to dropping the wrong on if not paying attention to the pop up. The workaround is to disable Questie and EQL3 and then drop the quests which is a bit of a ball ache. I'm not sure if it's related to Questie, it's more likely to be EQL3 but wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and how they solved it? My wife has the same problem, we are using latest version of Questie but possibly we have an outdated EQL3. *edit* - nvm fixed it by getting EQL3 from from another source, even though the files in that version seemed to be older the problem doesn't exist Edited February 16, 2017 by Randall

Current development can be followed here: https://github.com/Dyaxler/QuestieDev/commits/Version3.70 A Beta release should be available soon™. Also Aero was working on a new version 4.0, but development on that is stalled due to some ominous thing called "real life".

Meitie 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2017 Ty for the great Addon. Yesterday we switched from a very old version to the newest at your posted github link. But now questie causes often very long loadtimes when taking quest items or talking with quest npcs Is this a known Bug or normal behaviour?

We noticed some similar problems during development of v3.7, but we hope to have them fixed before release.

Can you recommend a stable and fast version without this behaviour?
Muehe 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2017 4 minutes ago, Meitie said: Can you recommend a stable and fast version without this behaviour? Try the current 3.69 release. It has some minor issues, but should be fine performance wise (barring some weird quests with lots of symbols, like Stranglethorn pages quests or cloth quests). Latest release is always available here: https://github.com/AeroScripts/QuestieDev/releases
