Recommended Posts

Hi,

I never played on Vanilla before so I don't know which one class I should choose. I think about: Rogue, fMage, Warlock and mabye Shaman. Can u help me in the selection of the class ? :)

Before all of the excellent opinions find their way to your thread, we're going to need to know: Do you plan on playing the fresh PvP realm? Do you plan on progression and/or BGs? Do you have any natural preference for casters, melee, tank, heals?

Welcome,

You should definitely play on the fresh server. Many noobs there, so you can learn togheter.

Later on, when more experienced. You can always play on Nostalrius PvP for progression raiding.

I play in wow around 10 years so I know everything. I just never playing on Vanilla so I don't know which class is good. I don't wanna waste my time to lvl weak class. I played all of this class. I wanna be good in pvp and do decent dps on raid.

So mr. Kazuma im not a noob, mabye u are ?

Rogue is a great class, thats why there will be a lot of rogues running around, it will make it harder for you to get a raidspot, especially as a beginner. Firemage is kinda bad for quite a while, some bosses have fire resistance, so again, you will not have a raidspot for some time as a firemage, go with frost for leveling and raiding untill u encounter bosses that are vulnerable or not resistant to fire (i forgot which raid has that boss, others will tell you). Warlock is great, but you will have to manage your soul stones properly to give your raid healthstones and such.

I would recommend a mage, but a rogue is a great choice aswell, mage is just good overall in every stage of the game (leveling, raiding, pvp etc).

Later xpacs had different class mechanics, if you never played vanilla how will you know the boss fight?

There's no weak class in vanilla, thats what it makes it so unique each class had its strenghts.

No need to make it personal, you're new wich make you a noob ;)

Suggested classes for beginners wich are forgiving:

Hunter, Paladin

I just want to add my 2 cents to your comment, keep in mind OP Paladins heal, there is no other way around, in vanilla if you're a pally, you're a healer, same with druid. And hunters are easy to level but you will have to learn a few things for raiding.

@Arazziel No problem :)

In WOTLK I played Destro Lock and is was very strong and as a Frost Mage it was on cataclysm so make it clear - Rogue it will be my Alt. So now - Lock or Mage ? :)

There are no bad classes or specs. Every class has a place in raids if you're a good player.

Only exceptions are:

-Shadow priest, only 1 is needed in raids, and even then, only when debuff limit is increased to 16, IIRC

-Fire mage, almost everything in MC/BWL is immune or resistant to fire
