Downloading the game

Hi guys, 

 

I just recently downloaded the game to try out the stress test, and I downloaded it through MEGA.

 

Now I've saved the game folder named "1.12.1.5875_enGB.zip" to my Documents..

 

I click it and come to another folder named "World Of Warcraft". In it I find the usual Data, Documentation, Interface, WTF etc..

 

But how do I start the game? I've tried changing the realmlist.wtf but it says it's writing protected.

 

And the rest of the files in the folder are non-clickable. It says I must extract files.. Should I do that?

 

Any help appriciated.

You need to unpack the contents of the zip via WinZip or Winrar, thus creating a folder without the data-type zip. There you should be able to edit the realmlist.wtf via Editor or Notepad ++

 

In short; Yes, extract all the files from the ZIP.

Now you can use the WoW.exe -  but since the server wont be online until tomorrow evening for the stresstest you wont be able to connect. Did you already create a game account for the stresstest? Further information here: https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=23366&p=245280

 

p.s: just to be sure, you extracted ALL folders and files out of the zip, or just the realmlist.wtf?

Yeah, I extracted all of them. I tried to login but I can't get into the game like you said.

I will try to get on tomorrow evening:)

im also having a problem in which i have changed the realm-list to what they said you had to change it to and when i press wow.exe my file explorer freezes and nothing happens and i cant even shut down the frozen file explorer because it doesn't come up in programs running please could someone help me i just wanna play when it launches.

Something must be wrong with your client. I see no correlation between an improper realm list and a faulty client launch. Where did you download the client from?

As of right now the server's are currently down while we stress test the servers. We do recommend watching for this Sunday 12pm EST Dec. 4th, 2016 for a 3rd and Final Stress Test.

 

Rest assured, as long as you have the correct realmlist set and the game opens, then you should be good to go when account creation is up and running =)

 downloaded the client from kronos wow as i cant download it from this website because of storage on the links ect
