am0nkey 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 hey there! Please please please dont forget to fix the boat bug on the mac client where you get dropped of in the middle of the ocean when travelling by boat. As far as I know it was fixed on the old Nost server right? Thanks a lot!!
Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) Yeah it was fixed on Nost by being ported to the end location and gently dropped out of the air. Was it fixed on Elysium too? Also, I see it is in Bug Tracker. Edited November 29, 2016 by Ellipsea

Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted December 2, 2016 What was it that he did in that video? It wasn't clear to me. I can say, I never go in the rooms, because my client freezes when I go in there.
Zappa 7 Report post Posted December 2, 2016 Protip: quit wow (using the dock) before the loading screen and then log back in. This will put you through properly on the other end I tried this on different servers months ago. This is what happened to me: 1. I took the boat from Ratchet to BB. Logout before loading screen. After login i fell down and landed dead somewhere in the mountains in arathi highlands. Unable to reach my corpse i used the spirit healer. 2. I took the boat from Auberdine to Menethil harbor. Logout before loading screen. After login i found myself somewhere in the sky north of Tirisfal far out in the ocean unable to move or using my hs. Unstuck did not work either. It took me a long time and some gold to get a warlock summon me back to a capital city. 3. I took the Zeppelin from OG to Grom'gol base camp. Logout before loading screen. After login i was just dead deep in the ocean somewhere. This is what i learned from it: JUST DON`T DO IT! I always switch to a wine-windows.client before taking the ship now. After loading screen i switch back to my mac-client. Why do i use the mac-client? Because it runs smoother, the windows.client lags a bit in graphics.

am0nkey 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2016 yeah well i just tried the logout tip on kronos II and got stuck somewhere in the sky not able to do anything at all :/
Slickbrick 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2016 the video was filmed on kronos 1 and the technique worked for me on kronos 2. he isn't doing anything special, just standing in a particular spot. this is a well known issue between mac clients and mangos servers. one of the leading hypotheses is that the player is loaded before the transport. see Lillecarl's post here: https://github.com/cmangos/issues/issues/198 by standing in the exact spot shown in the video, you can get caught by the walls in the back room, thus keeping you on the ship. as others mentioned, nost had their own fix for this, so hopefully this will be a non-issue when the server releases.
Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted December 2, 2016 Ya know what? When I tried the boat on second stress test, I must have been standing where he was. My client crashed and I assumed it was because of boat bug, don't know. When I logged back, I was in the room on the boat. My client started freezing up like it usually does when I'm in that room. I minimized my screen and that seemed to help the weird flickery-screen freezing, and was able to walk out of the room.
