[Addon] VCB - Vanilla Consolidated Buffframes

Recommended Posts

NyVcgz4.png

What is VCB?
Vanilla Consolidate Buff-Frames (VCB) is a smart system to manage your auras. The AddOn provides a lot functions to customize it to your tastes and adds a lot of helpful functions for a better overview, which is its purpose in the first place anyway.

What are the advantages with VCB?

  • A better overview for your auras due to consolidation
  • Never reach the aura cap because of useless auras that you don't need anyway with the Banning-System
  • Each frame is movable, independently from each other
  • Display even potential buffs, either grayed out or/and as number on the icon
  • Display more than 16 buffs
  • Customize the frames to your personal tastes
  • Nearly everything is customizable

Installing Instructions

  • Download the AddOn here
  • Rename the unziped folder to "VCB"
  • Place the folder into your AddOn directory in your World of Warcraft folder
  • (If you had a previous version (<v2.5))
  • Go into your WTF/Account/ACCNAME/SavedVariables/
  • Delete VCB.lua and VCB.lua.bak
  • Go into your WTF/Account/ACCNAME/SERVER/CHARNAME/
  • Delete VCB.lua and VCB.lua.bak
  • Delete VCB_AutoUnbuffer.lua and VCB_AutoUnbuffer.lua.bak
  • Delete VCB_Buffframe.lua and VCB_Buffframe.lua.bak
  • Enjoy

How does it look like?

The Dummy Mode for configuration:

Aww, my very first addon. Things changed so much :3

Fixed a few things. So the latest version is 3.1, which is the latest.

cheers!

Hey!

You have to add it to the VCB folder. If the folder doesn't exist already create one. For example textures. There you have to put your custom border texture in there. Be aware that it has to be a valid border texture file then.

A link would look like this: Interface\\AddOns\\VCB\\textures\\NAME.tga

Not sure about the \\. Could also be just /.

cheers!

VCB_WP_POSY = -130
VCB_WP_POINT = "TOPLEFT"

Where are the others?

BUFF, DEBUFF?

why they in layout-cache.txt

Frame: VCB_BF_BUFF_FRAME
FrameLevel: 1
X: 1280
Y: -7
Frame: VCB_BF_DEBUFF_FRAME
FrameLevel: 5
X: 1280
Y: -110
Frame: VCB_BF_WEAPON_FRAME
FrameLevel: 1
X: 1090
Y: -130

if you turn off and turn on the addon, settings the provision are reset

 Hi Shino,

First of all love your addon,  it's really great. However, I encountered 1 bug - whenever I change the buff timer font and reloadui or restart game, the font resets to the default one and the settings are not saved.

Hey!

@monteo,

this was my first addon therefore I didn't know a lot about such things. Please make a bug report on GitHub, I will issue it as soon as I find time!

@peremi

Thank you :)

This is bothersome, could you also make an bugreport on GitHub, so I don't forget about it?

cheers!

Shino,

I have not tested buffs, but the "invert order" option for debuffs does not work as expected. The dummy boxes show the order changes from 16-1 to 1-16, however when a debuff is applied the position of debuff 1 is move back to it's original position at 16, overlapping 16. I do hope i'm being clear.

As a temporary workaround, "invert aura orientation" achieves the same goal of invert order.

Cheers

No, you got the purpose of the function wrong.

It is indeed doing what it is supposed to do. It invertes the order.

The dummy mode displays what happens if you had the maximum amount of buffs. This is of course not always the case which is why it jumps back to the first position, if you only have one buff.

Meaning if MDW was your first buff and BS your second, it would normally be like this:

|BS||MDW|

 2      1

Inverted it would look like this:

|MDW||BS|

    1      2

Hope that solves this mystery!

cheers!

Hi, the debuff border is offset or too small by one pixel to the right thus leaving a weird UI edge on the debuffs. Any way I can just fix this in the XML or LUA? Were is the border information held? Maybe just make the Edge thickness larger by one?

Edit:

Working on that now, Can you give clear directions on how to use my own custom borders? Maybe I can fix it that way. yOgn1HQ.pngOn the left you can see the silver border of the UI underneath the green border.

I honestly don't know anymore. If there is such an option it should be at the Buffframes or timer tab.

Greetings!

I was looking for addon that can show ALL buff frames and found VCB. It looks nice, but is it possible to make frames for target, party raid?

Also would be good if buffs / debuffs could be anchored to fill from left to right and right to left.

I am too far from making addon for WoW, but can i ask a topic starter like a guy who understand coding: Is it possible to reverse filling of target's status bars (hp / mana)?
