Rolling a Shaman Tips

Recommended Posts

So on the 17th I wholeheartedly plan to roll a shaman and was wondering if there were any tips anyone had for someone with history with the shaman class but not a whole lot in the vanilla scene.

I currently play the game as a shammy and have been playing shammy since vanilla but never really did and PvE content back then and want to try it now. If you are going to tell me to Roll resto, please don't even bother. I plan on playing enhancement all the way as I am not too serious about getting into raiding, really just have the time and interested in doing more end game Dungeons and see where that takes me.

Enhancement/Ele are crap in PvE raids. The DPS you bring is pretty low, even with good gear. That and, you don't really bring anything that a resto shaman can't.

If you're dead set on "enh all the way", you're going to be constrained to 5mans and PvP.

Don't listen to them, if you don't care to be at the top of the meters and be a part of the world first kill scene, you would be able to raid as enhancement. I had a friend that raided as a enhancement shaman focusing in Spell power and stacking armor and he outperformed many mages and warlocks in the damage meters (the only downside was that he would give some extra stress in a secondary healer).

While leveling you would be able to tank about 60% of the dungeons (if you are into tanking), or you could archive a nice DPS and ocasional drop an emergency heal. By far I've seen that shamans have a funnier leveling experience going with a fast one hand weapon with flame enchantment and a good shield, because they're able to perform better in world pvp at low levels.

If enh shaman outdps warlocks and mages, then those warlocks and mages need to delete their accounts

If you want to raid as Enhancement, just invest into making a Nightfall, then you can convince a guild you're worth slotting. Hope you like that axe though, because it's the last thing you'll ever swing at a boss.

Yep, that's pretty much the only reason why an Enh shaman would be brought to a raid: to be a Nightfall b!tch.

But OP said he wasn't too serious about raiding, so maybe a MC or ZG pug will bring him along for shits and giggles.

In Enh spec, you can easily do all raid 20. You have pretty good results in this type of raid.

But for raid 40, you need nightfall or respec.

But Enh spec bright in PVP.
