Hey there!

 

Since we are getting closer to the release date, I got some questions.

 

First of all; I read the post about the financial status today. So, what if they cannot support servers financially? What if they cannot collect enough donations? Are we gonna stop playing after 1-2 months? I think devs should update us saying "Ok guys we are good to go for a year so no worries" What do you guys think?

 

Second; You think servers are going to be healthy enough to play without any problems on Saturday? Are you expecting a lot of disconnects or crushes? Maybe they should give it an early start without any notices to avoid a potential bottleneck.

So first off as of the first day of registration there was something like 32k accounts transferred and created. Since it only takes 1200 a month to keep up all 3 servers it would take $1 from each to finance the server for 2 years. There will be a lot more accounts created in the next few months as well, and some people (myself included) that are going to be paying $15 a month just like a regular subscription.

 

All in all I am positive there will not be problems financing the server.

 

As for your second question, I am sure there are going to be server issues on saturday. Every launch has its problems but the biggest problem is going to be trying to lvl with all the new people around.

If the server is up for a year or a month, in the end who really cares? If you are having fun for that month you are still going to have fun it will all work out in the end. I don't think the server will have any issues keeping up so we should be clear. I think they really do need support and they should get some. They do it all for free so might as well help them out so we dont turn into a pay to win server.

They will be fine financially, there will be tens of thousands of players, I really don't think $1200/month is going to be a problem.

 

As for stability... yes at launch it will be very laggy and very busy. But in the long term it will be fine - Nostalrius rarely had lag issues and usually didn't take too long to log in to. This will be the same except imo maybe not as popular as Nostalrius.

I only played Nost PvP. As I said, in my experience I never had lag problems. Very occasionally there might be lag spikes but they didn't last long and were not frequent.
