meddlingmage 3 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Is there a way to do it? I don't know all of the technical differences when it comes to draw distance/render distance. What I'm looking for (in layman's terms) is to have the game render mountains/trees/hell anything further out. I hope this makes sense. So for instance, you will see what should be a mountain etc that shows up with a "fog of war" effect.. is there a way to enhance this?
Aisar87 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 I believe most of this is controlled server side, like grass draw distance. That's the only complaint I really have and it doesn't seem like you can increase it with commands that already exist in the game.
Tickles 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Draw Distance in a 3D environment is handled by the engine, and can only go so far out. NPC draw distance is handled by the server. I could be wrong though.
Danko 1 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 I think draw distance is server side, also dont modify your game files since it can get you a ban, just go with the vanilla draw distance.
Aisar87 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Basically after you max out all the graphics options in the menu that's what you get.
Revanent 1 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Basically after you max out all the graphics options in the menu that's what you get. not at all, when the graphics are pushed higher via /console commands, the game looks SEXY! How to do this explained in full here: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1100 I've actually seen that before and for the amount of work that appears to go in, the changes seem quite subtle. Do you know if there is anything pertaining to draw/render specifically? EDIT: Upon second glance, can one simply copy and paste everything at once? Wait... I don't think we can alter game files like this for risk of ban. Edited December 14, 2016 by meddlingmage

It's good and approved: https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=23597 Also push your resolution beyond your screens native res if you can. I am playing 3840 × 2160 + max AA + pushing config commands to an absolute max and its stunning! I seriously couldn't ask for more and I am a true graphics enthusiast!

I don't think we can alter game files like this for risk of ban. You can copy and past blocks of text into macro commands? I always input them on at a time so i could see the effects visually and performance(?) wise (yeah i cant say it dropped my fps below 240 without vsync, 60 with?) for each one. As for the risks as its not altering any files, as all of these commands are present within the games engine and non of these commands provide any form of advantage, apart from prehaps visual enjoyment so we're not running any risk of being banned. Undertanker 88 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) You have to do each line by itself, not all at once.It literally takes 10 min for a first time. Don't be lazy. Edited December 15, 2016 by Undertanker

How to do this explained in full here: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1100 I actually tested it out one day and added every single line in, the difference is tiny imo. I wouldn't bother with it. The higher resolution that Pishy mentioned might be the secret. Edited December 15, 2016 by Aisar87

Aisar87 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 I don't know why somebody can't create a custom WoW engine using Unreal 4. I'm sure you could but would it feel like WoW then? A lot of people myself included really love the look and feel of vanilla.

Is this just a matter of modifying the 'gxResolution' or do I need to change certain Nvidia settings?
Aisar87 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) its impossible to make it go further then "farclip 777" console command to my knowledge. which i believe is just the max settings in options anyway... could be wrong on that one though because I'm not really delving into this stuff until launch. edit: I guess I'll retest to see what actually changes because more things do improve than I thought Edited December 15, 2016 by Aisar87
Undertanker 88 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 If you push the settings beyond the max that were already listed, most settings then just default to what is max in your Video Settings in game, which is MUCH MUCH MUCH lower. Also once you go through this process using the Console commands, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING IN YOUR VIDEO SETTINGS IN GAME. This causes about half of what you did in the Console commands to revert back to the video settings max settings making them much lower.
