ezspeng 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 When I created an Elysium account and transferred my Nostalrius characters I used a different e-mail to the one I used on Nostalrius. I noticed this message on the Elysium website as I was getting prepared for the 17th: "If you are planning to transfer either Nostalrius or Elysium characters to your new account, we advise you to use the same e-mail you used on your previous account. If you do not do so, your account will be flagged for investigation of potential account trading in the future." I don't regularly check my previous e-mail address so I thought I'd use my new one, little did I know I messed up before it was too late. I know it probably doesn't matter, but I don't want anything screwing me over after waiting for so long. I can prove the account/e-mails belong to me, let me know what info is needed. Sorry about the wall of text.
Patchi 4 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 It only flags for investigation. I don't think it means an automatic ban or suspension. If you indeed have proof that the characters and account you transferred are yours, then I wouldn't think you'd have much to worry about. My guess is they are flagged for potential account theft, so if someone reports that their accounts were stolen, then they can investigate based on IPs connected, and emails used to access the accounts on nost.

That makes sense, thanks for putting my mind to ease. Mini-panic is over.
ashvien 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) I tried to register with my old Nost email (it's my ISP email which I use for everything), but Elysium wouldn't send it a verification email (even after 30+ attempts over several days). In the end I was forced to create a new Gmail in order to receive the verification and transfer my chars. I can't imagine they will flag anyone given that their own website is preventing some people from registering with their Nost email. Zappa 7 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) There will be several thousands of flagged accounts due to email validation problems during the registration process. If you do not do so, your account will be flagged for investigation of potential account trading in the future. Sounds like secret agent stuff but you don´t have to be afraid of anything as long as it is your account. Edited December 16, 2016 by Zappa
Loktarøgar 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) I dont really like this system, when i joined nostalrius in 2015 i made the mistake to register one of my account with a temporary mail now i used a real gmail email, hope i will not get banned for this. i'm confident that i'm not the only one who did that Also for IPS, alot of people have dynamic router or maybe use VPN for example, ip mean nothing i'm curious to see how the staff will manage this and not ban unfairly Edited December 16, 2016 by Loktarøgar

Yup, even a simple IP check would confirm that I've only ever used my account from the same place. I think they may have just worded it a bit too aggressively.
