JoeJimm 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Is there any difference between PvE servers and PvP servers other than that one has combat on in certain zones? What do these "Fresh start" servers mean? I hear that the fresh servers ... or maybe it was the old ones, aren't getting launched until several weeks after some other servers? I remembered there being something about reviving old players accounts so does this mean only the old players will be able to play for the first several weeks? Just wondering because that'd be pretty disappointing for me because by the time I'd have access to them I'd have school again.
Patchi 4 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 There are 3 realms in the works. The Reboot of the Nostalrius PvP realm, with everyone's characters transferred to it. The reboot of the Nostalrius PvE realm, with everyone's characters transferred to it. Both of these realms new players can play on and create new characters. Sometime in January they are releasing a new fresh realm with all new players on it that is also a PvP realm. PvP and PvE realms are the same, with the exception that PvP realms have world PvP enabled at all times, where as PvE realms you have to turn it on manually to be able to fight other players in the open world.
Stormhart 12 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Nost PvP and Nost PvE are opened tomorrow. They are the former Nostalrius realms and have progressed in terms raid, gear, bg's. In PvP you are always pvp flagged in contested or enemy zones, meaning players from the opposing faction can attack you. In PvE this is disabled unless you set pvp on by /pvp. New accounts can be played on these, you don't need to have played on these servers before. The fresh realm will release in january by the looks of it. It doesn't have all the content Nost PvP/PvE offers yet and no established market, thinks like that.

JoeJimm 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Thanks for the answers guys! I'm excited to create a new character tomorrow... I only started playing WoW very shortly before BC was released so I only got to experience very little of vanilla wow but I have very fond memories of it.. should be a blast! No idea what I'm going to play though.. on current WoW servers I got a 106 Warlock and 100 Druid. So many things about Vanilla WoW I remember... like I remember having to do quests to get the totems that were very long and difficult but it made getting your totems feel so satisfying and like a huge reward and power up. The loss of those kinds of things that actually felt like achievements and is now so streamlined is what I miss about vanilla... already said it once but can't wait for tomorrow!
