Cannot rename realmlist.wtf

I have followed and read a ton of posts in support of this and i still can not figure this out and i know its something small and dumb but after i download the client i cannot rename realmlist.wtf to set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org. I keep getting an error message im not sure what i am doing wrong but currently i am reinstalling the client. Any help would be awesome. I already read most links reguarding downloading issues so please dont hit me with links unless they specifically relate to the issue thank you guys !

Open the file in notepad and put set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org in there then save.

Keep the file named as realmlist.wtf

You can always create a simple .txt file - modify it, rename it to realmlist.wtf and save it in the WoW folder.

If still not working it may be set in Read Only mod.

 

Right click the file, click properties

 

Under General Tab, at the bottom, uncheck read only.

I do remember it saying something about read only. I think we are on to something haha

I had to same problem. Make sure the file properties is not set to read only, then if you have to create a notepad document and make it exactly like the wtf file. 

 

Name your new notpad file as 'realmlist.wtf' delete the old one if you can't change it then replace it with the new file. Of course set your list as: set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org

 

I had to try this a few time. Don't give up.

Ok so it just got done downloading and now im looking at the WinRAR warcraft 1.12.zip. Their is a folder that says World of warcraft when I double click the folder: i can see all the folders and files. But when i right click it doesnt give me the option for properties. i can extract the different files and stuff but i cant even move the launcher to the desktop yet...

Ok lets ( try ) to make this simpler

1st you need to extract everything from that zip file.

I'll assume you have winrar , open the file in winrar and press "ALT+E"

On the destination path , put were you want to extract the game to ( ex : C:\Games\wow ) and press ok

This is were the game will ACTUALLY be , wait for it to extract.

Now choose one of these options :

Option A ( manually edit the realmlist.wtf ) :

Now you need to open realmlist.wtf with notepad ( in the example it would be located @ c:\Games\wow\realmlist.wtf )

delete the line there , add this one  :

SET realmlist logon.elysium-project.org

and save it.

Option B ( download realmlist.wtf and place it in the wow folder ) :

Download this file : http://www.mediafire.com/file/xl6gu43q4t1mzz0/Elysium+Realmlist.rar

Open it with winrar , and either drag and drop in the wow folder ( in the example it's c:\games\wow\ ) OR do "alt+e" and put your wow folder in the destination.

This should overwrite the "old" one.

After this , running wow.exe should launch the game and connect to elysium I hope this helps , good luck.

Right click realm list file, and go to "Security" tab. Click on "Advanced" button

 

In "Advanced Security" window click "Change Permissions" button and then in new window unclick "include inheritable permissions from object's parent", then click Remove.

 

Now add your account name or account that has admin rights on your computer, and check box "Full Control". After that you will be able to save changes to realmlist file as boys described it above.

Thank you all for the help ! I got the game running. Now my issue is I can't log in lol I am registered with elysium but when I go to log in it keeps disconnecting me at the log in screen.
