Colored Text in game?

Why is colored text a warning offense in the ToU is it just to stop the gold spammers?

I imagine that is the main reason yes, there isnt much of a reason to use colored text any ways so.

the gold sellers use it to stand out, you dont really need to use it so not something to worry about.

i understand trying to keep the gold spammers on their toes but why punish the player base even with a minor utility ban it would be nice to use it to "Standout".

If coloured text was allowed, then the chat would be one big mess; everyone would make colours so exactly their line was unique compared to all others.

I didn't think of it as attention whoring but i guess with any system like this there would be those that would abuse it for such activities.

I get your point, would be cool to use but as stated above, probably a big mess.
