Here's a grinding guide:

Is the monster "green" to you?

IF YES - kill until the monster is no longer "green" to you.

IF NO - find a monster that is "green" to you and proceed to kill it until it is no longer "green" to you.

Is green the ideal mobs to farm? I thought orange gave more xp while still easy since they are your same lvl?

grinding is pulling larger packs and burning them all down. yellow, and especially orange mobs, you will have to take greater care pulling, so not as effective for grinding
