Inventory issue..

Need some help here. When I logged in today for the first time in 1.5 days, one of my characters has zero gold. It was exactly where I left it when I logged off last - on the bridge in ironforge - no items are sold, no successful auctions were taken from my mailbox, etc. I don't believe my account was compromised, I have never bought gold or visited a gold seller's website etc, so there's no way they got my password and login. Need some help, I've never had this happen before. I had about 90-92 gold on my mage.

Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, for the way the Terms of Use is written there is little the staff can do. There has been instances where they have investigated gold loss. It is up to the discretion of the staff.

The terms of use say this:

III. Character/Currency/Item restoration

Elysium staff will not recover any lost or deleted characters, regardless of circumstances.

Game items such as experience, gold or equipment that you have lost through accident, very rare failure of the server, or otherwise, cannot be restored

There are two exceptions to this:

Unique quest items or keys can be restored with sufficient evidence that the player had previously obtained them.

Raid items with the rarity of Epic and above can be restored in the case of a server crash/roll-back, providing an in-game ticket is sent to us which fulfills the conditions below

a. Exact date of the raid;

b. Video of complete encounter which also shows the raid ID, loot and complete list of raid members;

c. Name of the player who received or should have received the item.

Restoration of any item is always at the discretion of Elysium staff. Falsified information will lead to immediate account closure

Honestly, I wouldn't even care if they delved deeper and could tell me "yeah someone logged into your account during the time you say you weren't on, so change your password" I'd be ok with that answer. But if it is a system issue or something, idk what, I'm not well versed in such things. Just want to know what happened not "probably" what happened. Things just don't add up to being hacked. If I was hacked, I would expect to have been logged out near a mailbox, not exactly where I left my character last etc.

Maybe - and I am not saying this is the case here - but maybe it has to do with the 700.000 gold they've removed from the game.

This has happened to me today. Fortunately it happened to a character that only had 5g on it at the time.

The odd thing about this is that it's literally *only gold* that is missing... I still have the silver and copper amounts... just the gold is missing.

This gold loss has to be traceable and restorable. Database write errors aren't terribly hard to find when they occur, so it boggles my mind that the ToS would say it's not restorable. :\

I'm not really bothered about 5 gold, but this gives me grave concerns about this happening again... 6 months from now, on a character I could have hundreds, or thousands of gold on.

That's the kind of thing that makes people quit.

The exact same issue happened today to me... Unique password so it couldn't have been datamined from some other site. (changed that again now)

And the bizarre thing is only gold missing on highest level char... the rest are untouched...

I mean if you rob me do it properly and sell everything... They could've easily gotten another 3g by hearthstoning my char and sell all the stuff in my bags and on the bank... yet only the 5g on my char is gone...

And yes, the only thing I would want is a simple confirmation, yes someone logged into your account and stole your gold. Preferably even with the ip that logged in. (would be so easily to just show the last 10 logins with ip in the control panel on the site, as that would do the trick.)

I do not wish to believe in a database error... but the last time a buddy of mine got robbed, he was naked and everything was gone. (including everything on alts)

Which makes this really odd. (and same here, I don't care about the 5g, I just want to know what happened, because if it was db error, I suppose Elysium would want to prevent those in the future. They can't really do anything about being robbed though :P)

I am starting to become genuinely concerned about the safety issues on this site/server.

Things are starting to happen, that seriously make no sense, UNLESS someone has access to an account database.

I might be paranoid - but nothing is said, from anyone.

If there has been a security breach on Elysium - common courtesy of telling people, would be preferred.

If this has to do with Management removing traceable gold, from recipient accounts - please tell us!

Some of us (more and more, I'm afraid) are starting to wonder if it is worth the risk, to invest our time here.

 

NB.   This is in no way meant as a threat.  I am just a concerned player.
