But when I hit to connect again it says my account has been closed. I don't believe it is closed because for one, I haven't broken any rules, but also because I have not received an email and I can log into the control panel and everything looks good. no ban messages and all characters are listed. anyone else having this issue or can someone verify my account is ok? would like some verification that this is just a bug due to the craziness the new server is bringing and its just a false positive. thanks in advance :) 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

clitorismaximus 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2017 Your account probably isn't ok. I didn't get disconnected because I hadn't been on in a few days but I tried to log on and my account was banned. I posted an appeal and a GM answered me saying "Your account was compromised and used for gold spam." And literally nothing else. I am still waiting on a response on whether or not I can get unbanned, but for some reason it seems to take a minimum of 12-24 hours to get a response. The same thing most likely happened to you and even though we have done nothing wrong and do not deserve to be banned we are being punished. I would say post in ban appeals and wait for a reply, hopefully they will unban you, I am still waiting on a reply to my 2nd ban appeal. good luck 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Limj 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2017 I had the same disconnect and account closure happen to me. I posted a bug check for the issue at first, but then noticed the ban appeal. I posted an appeal, but did not here anything for a week. I then posted a request to contact the Administration this past Sunday. It is now Wednesday and I still have heard absolutely nothing from anyone. I understand there are a lot of users and the people managing this are probably quite busy, but I would expect at least some kind of acknowledgement after almost two weeks... I am almost at the point of creating another account or giving up on playing this if I'm going to have my account closed randomly. I had literally just created an account a couple days before this happened, so I am quite disappointed... I'm going to ask once again... I went for lunch, not more than 10 minutes or something and when I came back it said i was disconnected. i tried to login and i got the message of temporal ban. I know that i left my character in the barrens inn but i dont use any "anti-afk meassure" or cheat. If this is for being AFK I think they are going a little bit too far. I have also not received any email confirmation of why I'm being banned and when I use the control panel from the site i can see my characters but not a single message of what's going on. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Maisri 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2017 My son is having this problem as well. I know for a fact he hasn't done any cheating/gold buying (yes, I really do). He went on a trip for about 5 days, then when he came back to log in today, bam, banned. Absolutely no clue. Only thing we can think is he has been hacked and had his account used for spam. No contact with anyone that could have made him a target, so who knows. He's trying to get his account back as we speak, but I have a sad feeling it's going to take some time. Still says I'm banned when I try to log in with no email to even explain why it happened. Reading about how they brag about not unbanning people though leaves me little hope they will even tell my why my account was banned. It looks like many are getting caught up falsely in blanket auto bans and there's nothing we can do other than start over and hope we don't accidentally do what got us banned the first time, since we don't know what that was in the first place, gl to all with that. Elysium and Nostalrius staff have continuously stated that any accounts that have been hacked and banned as a result of someone else will not be restored. Cut your losses, learn from your mistakes, create a stronger password and use the Two-factor authentication that they recently implemented. Apart from that, you are on your own. Now, let’s get into the details of how the system will work. You can enable one of the two following solutions: IP Lock with authenticator: if you log in from an IP that is different from the last one you used to connect to the game, you will have to enter a verification code. Always use authenticator: you will always have to enter a verification code on login. Both solutions work for web and game authentication. In order to enable (or disable) a two-factor authentication solution, you will have to confirm it through an email. We know there have been issues in the past with our web servers reaching the allotted amount of emails we can send certain providers such as Yahoo and Hotmail. Because of this, *we ask that you be patient in waiting for the confirmation emails and only retry them once an hour. While this authentication will be optional, we strongly advise that you keep it enabled at all times. With the protection offered by 2FA in conjunction with having a strong, unique account name and password, your account is impenetrable.
