instant disconnect followed by ban message

I posted in ban appeal and only my post shows up. Is that how it is for you guys? I'm currently going through same thing. Went on vacation over the weekend. Came back and my account has been closed. I know for sure it wasn't hacked because i checked through friends when my toon was last on and it matches when i was last on.

That's the thing though, I have no idea if the ban was for a compromised account or not.  I just want an email or thread response explaining why I was banned.

I'm going through the exact same thing. Played fine Friday night, went to log on Saturday morning to a message saying that my "account was closed and no longer available for use." I didn't receive an email or anything stating why, and I was able to log in on the website and see my characters all listed there. I want to post an appeal but it seems to NEVER be working for me. Every link I find tells me that the page can't be found. I know this is happening to a lot of other players and it's sad to see innocent people be made the victim. Sad that they're recognizing that players are being hacked and banned and they won't lift the ban at all. I feel like, what's the point in playing if your account could be compromised at any moment and banned? I don't want to have to keep starting over. I understand they recently implemented the 2 step authentication system, but why AFTER a good majority of players have already been banned? That's not the players fault and people want their accounts back. Sorry for my ranting.

It might not be directly your fault. You obviously didn't want your account hacked. But, it is your responsibility what happens on your account. From my understanding, they arent banning accounts just because they were hacked. They are only banning the accounts that were hacked and used to either advertise for gold sellers, or were used as mules for gold sellers. That is totally understandable. Any involvement in gold selling is a permanent ban, and there is zero tolerance.

People don't think about simple things having to do with account security ubtil it's too late most times. Things like using unique username/password. Not allowing anyone else to have access to your account. Even trusted guildies. 

Of course they only implemented the 2 step Auth after a bunch of people had their accounts comprimised. That stuff takes time and energy to set up, and they had no ideal how many people would end up with hacked accouts. They don't choose your username/password for you. Be grateful that they are stepping up to the plate and helping with account security. They could just do nothing.

The same thing most likely happened to you and even though we have done nothing wrong and do not deserve to be banned we are being punished.  I would say post in ban appeals and wait for a reply, hopefully they will unban you, I am still waiting on a reply to my 2nd ban appeal.

Same even though I dont think ive ever played on another private server in the past and did not find any of my gold lost.

Neither have I. I have no idea how they hacked me but they used their Asian superpowers and did and now my warlock with 3 days play time is gone. Just put in a ban appeal

Honestly, this isn't helpful or insightful at all. At some point, Elysium has to use discretion and be responsible itself. The two factor is nice, but not nice for people who were compromised for no reason of their own and banned. This entire attitude has to change.

You are not helpful at all to any of these people. Saying they should have done better is honestly insulting. There is zero difference in a gold seller hyjacking your account and advertising or a gold seller hyjacking your account and just stealing your stuff. There should not be a ban in either of those situations with the exception of proof of gold selling/involvment (money moving between accounts/IP consistent with gold sellers). If you are sitting on an account with two level 30's and a level 50 its safe to say they probably aren't there to sell gold.

It's not meant as an insult. I tried not to word it in a condescending manner. But, it's the truth either way. The truth is always helpful. What's not actually helpful is continually posting that your accounts all got banned for no reason and that you want them unbanned without waiting out your appeal. This accomplishes zero. Wait for your appeal to go through. 

If you continue to post these type threads up on the public section of the forums, expect a response similar to mine and much much worse from others.

Just to update what I posted here before, today I got unbanned. I guess it was a 24 hrs ban for going AFK? I'm really not sure because I haven't got any response on the ban appeal forum.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However it is not going to change the fact that the Game Masters and Administrators hold EVERYONE responsible for their account security. They have said numerous times across numerous posts that if you are hacked/banned your items WILL NOT be replaced. Secure your account, make a stronger password and move on with your life. Learn from your mistakes.

I'm sorry you feel insulted by this, but that's the way of things here and it will never change.
