Alyndra 3 Report post Posted January 11, 2017 This anti-spam needs to exclude guild and raid channels. I shouldn't have to disable BigWigs warnings to not be muted half the raid and i should not be muted for linking enchantment materials in guild chat. Basically pasting SW_Stats or making easy to read/see macros for certain things is impossible. The funny part is i rarely get muted outside raids, even when i use my worldchat "spam" macro. This can't be inteded. It must be possible to exclude private/closed chats like guild+raid/party from the system.
Zargoth 3 Report post Posted January 11, 2017 I agree. Far too many people are being muted in BG's, raids, and other semi-private channels. The Anti-spam mechanism should only be applied to the common public channels that are most likely to be spammed (World, General, Trade, etc.). Of major concern to me is the number of addons that are being rendered useless because of the current situation. Many of these addons create user channels to communicate with others using similar addons. Having a user-created channel muted is NOT the vanilla experience I remember.

Powershard 1 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 Anti-spam methods blizzard currently uses and what elysium adopted are inherently flawed systems. Must fight cancer with fire and instead of manipulating their capacity to speak, gold sellers must be discouraged to continue their trade as whole. I am happy to see innovation such as level limits to whispering but I would go even further, I would prevent contacting random players more difficult and the reporting function more community based tool that would not require GM interaction. I would just make it so that any player does not whisper multiple random players too much, thus going thro the /who list becomes inefficient for the spambots.
