ANGERY! How do you stop the screen from lagging and chopping every couple of seconds??

Recommended Posts

I just noticed this happening where the game will run fine for 5 minutes and then after that it starts lagging and stopping every 2 seconds and gets worse and worse as time progresses. If you log out and log back in it will stop for another 5 minutes. Is anyone else experiencing this??? I've tried everything I know. Drivers are up to date and I downloaded the game to no avail. Please help!

My game would freeze occasionally for 1 sec and get back to normal again. This happens most often when someone is casting magic. This does not happen in the past.

Sometimes when you update your drivers, the new ones are bugged and cause stutter or lag. Sounds like you have a VRAM issue.

This is especially true with NVIDIA drivers, which is why I personally won't update my drivers until I begin to experience issues like the ones you describe. My philosophy when it comes to Video drivers is: If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it.

In addition if you have too many programs running at the same time, it will chew up your system ram causing the PC to run poorly. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the task manager, click Processes and see what programs are using up the most of your memory.

I would suggest you make sure you have latest version of Questie. If you do, log out and turn off that addon. If its still lagging you know you most likely have a hardware issue. If the lag is magically gone. its most likely trying to track too many quests, and objectives. And you will just need to disable it temporarily until you get a handle of some of those quests.

This happened to me 5 minutes after stepping foot into STV. Consider this for Quest tracking:

Green Hills ch 1, Green Hills ch 2, Green Hills ch 3, Green Hills ch 4 (Then the complete chapter 1-4 assembled)

Panther mastery, Tiger mastery, Raptor mastery

Kurzen kill and collection quests.

That was only about 9-11 quests to track but it literally put up so many pins covering the top half of the STV map. Not to mention that it would also show "new" quests in other zones, Low level quests in all zones that i had not done or been to (which i had toggled on) and opposite faction quests.

Even after I set the MB usage for addons to 999 it was still stuttering.

(at that time i was also using an older version of questie and did NOT at that time update to the latest version. I found out about a week later there was a newer version.)
