I myself am a Veteran Vanilla player and have a completely different memory of Vanilla wow than you do obviously. Original WoW was buggy as hell, you would get stuck on griffons and not even loggin off  would fix it. Fall thru the world and end up on a graveyard not even on the same continent that you were at. I can go on and on.

This server is exactly as I remember Vanilla wow, and I'm loving it.

Leveling was the same back then, sorry if you're used to 1 shotting everything with a full heirloom character, but that is the reason that the retail WoW lost its appeal to me. Everyone gets epics/legendaries now, no gear is special. Some of the weapons with huge lore, prestige, and appeal are just given to your characters at level 100. I mean remember the months of speculation and people spending days searching and datamining information on the Ashbringer, if it really dropped and where it dropped, now you ding 100 and they just give it to you.

There's only one negative about the Elysium PVP server(I haven't played that much on Nost, so not sure if it's the same issue), the community is toxic. Just looking at the replies to your post here, proves my point. People can't just disagree with you point in a civil manner instead they resort to name calling and bullying. It's the same ingame from what i've experienced.

Its a different experience than original vanilla wow, back then nobody knew anything about the game, we were all noobs learning and experiencing this for the first time, this time we are aware of the game it is today, so we will feel a different way about it than we did originally. There's a lot of things that are better in the current retail version of the game, but it's lost a lot of it original appeal in the process of improving itself. It's free so I can't complain about it, I came to try it for a feeling of nostalgia and I got what I was expecting when it came to gameplay. Community is a different animal, but I guess that's just the current state of the internet in general.

Your point about the toxic community is fair in many respects, but not for this topic. OP'S thread was not meant as a critique, but an insult. There were no if er point ts to rebute.
