quest008 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2017 Hey Pottu, if Elysium uses a modified MaNGOS core, that means Nostalrius has no legal right to ask you to remove that core because it is licensed under GPL. The only thing they can ask you to do is to release the source code to the public as stated by the GPL.
Zorak 1 Report post Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Hey, this guy is right. I definitely do not think, that they have completely new core, they have to be beased on some existing project. If it is MaNGOS: GNU GPL, Licence for MaNGOS Zero here: http://docs.getmangos.com/en/latest/contributing/code/license.html#terms-and-conditions-for-copying-distribution-and-modification If it is some crazy version of Arc EMU: http://arcemu.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=16520 and from there GNU Affero GPL https://www.gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0.html If it is some crazy backported version of TrinityCore (didn't find any project, but heard rumors about something like that really existed), it is also definitely under GNU GPL If it is cMaNGOS, also GNU GPL https://github.com/cmangos/mangos-wotlk#readme So, Like that ... I haven't found any other Emus, but ... add them, if someone knows... Anyway, everything is under GNU GPL, so if Nostalrius have not built his core from scratch, they have no rights to ask for stopping using it. Period. @Zamamee Edited January 15, 2017 by Zorak
