question about mind control on nost pvp/elysium pvp

Recommended Posts

i had a priest on nost pvp last year and im unsure if this was blizzlike or not but you could mind control most humanoid targets including non-boss elites in dungeons like scarlet monastery, MC scaled as you leveled and each rank added an extra level to range of mobs that you could MC.

for example at lv 30 with rank 1 you could MC humanoids that were level 32 and below and at level 43 with rank 1 you could mc targets that were 45 and below but once you got the rank 2 skill at 44 it would allow you to MC targets 3 levels above, so a lv 51 priest could MC targets 54 and below. i didn't get to test out rank 3 at 58/60 because nost shut down before i got that high but i assume most non-boss humanoid elites could be MC'd

anyway once nost shut down, i, like many other people went to kronos. however upon reaching lv 30 and above on my new priest i found at that mind control did not work on most humanoid elites(only a handful, and seemingly at random as to which types) and once you went past the early 30s and started meeting higher level mobs, the usefulness of the skill quickly went away and it became useless, and so was the rank 2 for the same reason once you went past 47.

mind control was the main reason why i leveled a priest and not being able to be used on elites in dungeons and players in low level pvp(my absolute favourite things to do) ultimately lead me to stop leveling my priest on kronos and to pick a different class to level to 60.

unfortunately i wasn't able to transfer my nost characters over before the token generator kicked the can so ive decided to roll on elysium to get another fresh start. however i am unsure which way elysium handles mind control and i don't want to make the same mistake like i did on kronos. if they use the kronos way, did nost pvp(or whatever its callled now) follow suit or is it still like it was before the shutdown?

Yea its also pretty buggy.

back on retail you could cast one spell on the MCd target and it would go through but the MC would stop, here it makes your casting get stuck and bugs it out until you relog or die,

on retail mc caused a massive amount of threat also, which isnt implemented right by the looks of it, as any other threat can steal aggro on the mc'd mob when mc drops

works just fine, all humanoids outside the instance (to my knowledge) can be mind controlled, same goes for humanoid mobs in instances that're not bosses (excluding The Stockades, because you can mind control those bosses).
