valAmbit 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 The recent system message spam that reminds you to change your password is incredible frequent, obnoxious and patronizing. In fact, with a spam-blocking addon, the ONLY spam I encounter is from the server itself, really makes you think! This also invokes the "cry wolf" effect-- I no longer pay attention to any yellow messages, because it's sure to be useless spam. I see no way to filter out the system messages, and they seem to fall within the category that includes login notifications, /who queries, etc.. so a lot would be sacrificed to just remove the spam that is periodically sent by-- not goldsellers, but by the server itself! Even if you comply, it still nags more than WinRar. Am I supposed to change it every time it pops up, so every 15 minutes? So PLEASE tone down the stupid password reminder!! People have died because of the distraction, well, not me of course, but a friend of mine, you know!! Also, the spammed message itself is unclear. Why are the # marks there if you're not supposed to type them? Not to mention the dangers of trying to get people to impulsively type their passwords into a chat command. Agree. The yellow server messages should contain important information only. Papajimboh 12 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 I honestly thought it was a new creative idea by the gold spammers to get people's passwords and had to go check the Discord (site was down) to see other people talking about it. It is sort of annoying. Having it pop up once when you log in would be more than sufficient, and not a bother. People still said that they weren't given enough warning. People actually said that what they should have done is exactly what they are doing now. And now people complain about that.
