riplip 2 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 Hello, when I try to enable the IP lock authentication, I get sent the email but the code I get is far more than 6 digits, there's only 3 numbers in it and the rest are letters, and the confirmation link will not accept it. What to do? I tried it both a week earlier, and then on it's release but always gotten the same results. I've tried a whole bunch of things but none of them worked. Is this a known issue?
Erjh8765 19 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) When you receive the email, just open the authenticator app (I use DUO MOBILE) and scan the QR code. The 6 digit code you need to input is the one given to you by the auth app AFTER you successfully scan the QR code. riplip 2 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) I don't have a smartphone The email says "Or go to this link" and "Or input this code" but neither of those options work, they both send me to a page that asks me to input the 6 digit code which I didn't get I hope that makes sense now Edited January 23, 2017 by riplip
Erjh8765 19 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) Well, yesterday I read a post here wherein someone claimed that it is possible to setup 2FA without owning a smartphone by setting up Google Authenticator presumably from your PC. I think yοu should look into setting up Google Authenticator on your PC. Sry, I have no idea how to do that as I use the authenticator on my iphone. Presumably though, you will get the 6 digit code from the Google Authenticator on your PC after you successfully set that up. It'll work the same way.
