Trouble with 2F

Recommended Posts

I am having trouble enabling my Always Use Authenticator. I have already scanned the Bar Code. When I click on the link it opens the Control panel and says...

Access denied. :(

You do not have the clearance to view this confidential page!

I am already signed in the Control Panel page with my user name and password. Are there problems with the site? Or is there something wrong with the enabling?

Try logging out from control panel and then log back in and try again.

Have tried that and unfortunately it didn't work, but thank you. Any other advice would be great.

Still getting the same message when I try to Enable the Authentication. Anyone else with this problem? If so how did you fix it? If fixed at all?

I am very sorry that you still have issues. I can assure you that there isn't at present any issue with 2FA. It works for many ppl, including myself.

I don't know how to help you more. I will ask some admins to look into your case.

Let me get this straight, you enabled 2FA, scanned the bar code and THEN followed the link from the email sent to you which you then enable the 6 digit code?

Yes, as soon as I scanned the bar code, the 6 digit number popped up on my phone. Then I followed the link.

GM's are very busy because there's a ton of tickets in game and can't work with you to solve this issue at this moment.

From what I recall, I was sent an e-mail and then just used Duo Auth to scan the QR code. That was all.

After you scan the code with the App on your smartphone, 2FA is set up automatically, and you do not need to click on any other links.

Your account page should look like this:

Why don't you tell us how your control panel account page looks like.

Thank you again for the reply. I apologise if I am a pain, but I am really enjoying being able to play Vanilla again and I want to do it safely. My control Panel account page looks nothing like yours. It looks like it does before you activate any 2F. As I said, after I scanned the bar code with Google Authenticator, the 6 digit number popped up on my phone.

Have look in my profile's about me section, scroll to the bottom, and try setting up 2FA through WinAUth (and sans smartphone) as described therein.

Tell us how it went.
