Ravid 8 Report post Posted February 1, 2017 I've getting sick of being a nobody and doing nothing with my life. I got an associates degree in business and it's basically led me nowhere. I've recently looked into coding and it really interests me. I've always liked computers, I used to neglect my studies to play vanilla when I was a kid. It seems pathetic (maybe not to you guys) but I would like nothing more than to be a part of the dev team and help these people make these servers the best they can be and help you all enjoy it as much as I did. Do you guys have any idea of a plausible path to making this a reality? I want to be somebody. I live in Colorado.
Wirago 8 Report post Posted February 1, 2017 There are plenty of tutorials out there. Made a website about this topic, but it's in german. (kleincodiert.at) Nevertheless, try out some of them and you will see if it's something you like to get into. e.g.: https://mva.microsoft.com/en-US/training-courses/c-fundamentals-for-absolute-beginners-16169

GoldenEye 3 Report post Posted February 1, 2017 If you want to go into a specific area you need to do research and see what languages people are using in that area. Because going into "coding" is a bit like saying you want to play sports. Figure out if you want to hit homeruns or score touchdowns and then take it from there. Then use the internet to acquire all the knowledge you need to get started.
Revo 34 Report post Posted February 1, 2017 8 hours ago, Ravid said: I would like nothing more than to be a part of the dev team dude, its not that easy. you dont learn programming within a few months if you start from zero. rather years, depending on how good you want to become. so its very questionable that you will be able to help the elysium project so soon. but there are a lot of websites and tutorials that can help you get into it and understand how programming in general works. but as GoldenEye said, you should choose a "dicipline" first. depending on what you want to program, youll have to learn different programming languages
