lets talk about cat and bear base attack power

Greetings!

I recently stumbled across differences in cat/bear base attack power on stock MaNGOS compared to the values on Elysium (Darrowshire to be precise). I will show you the differences with screenshots (I was too lazy to switch to an English client, excuse me please for that):

1) bear

2) cat

Both screenshots have been taken without any buffs and without any talents distributed.

The question I have is the following: Were do these values come from? Is there any reliable vanilla WoW source for these base values which Elysium uses?

I think the difference of these values is quite impactful and I would sleep better, if I knew, that the comparatively low values of Elysium are true to the vanilla WoW values. What do you think?

I know nothing about this, but it's strange that the base(white) value on stock mangos equals the base + bonus values on elysium.

Elys: 120 + 180  ||  Stock mangos: (120 + 180) + 180

Elys: 175 + 120  || Stock mangos: (175 + 120) + 120

 

Maybe coincidence, but it can also be that on stock mangos you got the bonus twice(or you get half the values on elys)

Thats actually really interesting. Lets have a look at how the calculation should work:

Catform: (AP From Str = 2 ) + 120 + Agility - 20
With Feral Talents: ( AP From Str + 2.4 (HotW talent points) + 120 + Agility ) + (Predatory Strikes = LVL * 1.5) - 20

Base Stats while in Nightelf Form: 62 STR 65 AGI
Base Attack = STR * 2 - 20 = 104 (ingame 104)
Base Stats while in Catform: 74 STR 65 AGI

Until this point, the calculation is correct, however:

With Talents in place, lets go through the calculation:(74 x 2.4)  + 120 + 65 )  + 90) - 20 = 432.6 (Current ingame is 403 ( 2.0 instead of 2.4 from HotW)
Without Talents in place:  (62 x 2.0)) + 120 + 65 ))  - 20 = 289  ingame its 289

This means, heart of the wild calculation is bugged! It does not add 20% of STR towards your stats in catform!

 

Im submitting a bugreport now. Please upvote it.

@K0pasz: Thanks for your finding! So it is quite likely to be just a wrong calculation on MaNGOS. I would still love to find a source for the values, but that's maybe too much :D

@Wortgewandt: Are you sure, that this is the case? I have just resetted my talents again (ouch, 15 gold now) and this is the comparison shot:

It looks like Heart of the Wild is working fine for me. Am I missing something?

@Mahtan Thats odd. I'm gonna respecc too and see how that goes.

 

Update: You're right. I've deleted my wdb, to make sure and then respecced (rip gold).

Seems like, it has the right values now. So either, it doesnt always add the right amount when you put the skillpoints in, or it had something to do with, me not respeccing since i migrated my drood from nost

guys it seems correctly to me.

why do you multiply strenght with 2.4 instead of 2?

Hotw gives you 20% strength in cat form. if you have 100str in human form and no Hotw, then

cat form AP = (100 * 2) + 120 + Agility - 20

If you have Hotw:

cat form AP = (120 * 2) + 120 + Agility - 20
