Stoneclaw Totem

Recommended Posts

Does this things taunt get resisted based on your level or the level of the totem?

I trained rank 1 stoneclaw and I dont think that it has ever successfully taunted something, like ever.

I do not believe the rank has anything to do with the amount of threat it generates, just the base health of the totem. How are you trying to use Stoneclaw?

Are you trying to use it as a 'tank' for yourself? This method will not work as your damage will out-threat the totem taunts.

Are you trying to use it as a means to tank a mob for you when you pull multiple mobs? This should work on a mob you have not attacked yet, unless it gets resisted. I have used this method many times, it works great for a couple seconds of healing or something if you are needing less casting pushback.

I do not believe that the 'taunt' ability has a rank level, I believe even for a warrior it is a one rank ability. A taunt will only it will cause the target to focus attacks on it until the duration of the taunt is over, assuming no other threat has been performed by the person (or totem in this cause) to the target which would cause it to hold aggro. Since the totem does not attack, just taunts, it should pull a mob off you but will not tank something you are attacking that target.

I hope this answers your question? If you believe that something may be wrong with the totem/taunt itself, you could always try submitting a bug report.

I mean the tooltip says its a taunt.  Which should cause an amount of threat equal to whoever is at the top of the list +1.  If i throw down stoneclaw, it should grab aggro as long as I dont do anything else afterwards.   That is assuming that the taunt doesnt get resisted.

It's not a taunt.

Pet "growl" also says it's a taunt, but it is not a taunt.

Warrior talent "anger management" says that it decreases rage decay time by 30%, but in reality, it generates 1 rage per 3 seconds.

Don't always trust tooltips in vanilla, m8.

The warrior talent is actually true though as it does in fact reduce rage decay by 30% when out of combat, it simply doesn't explain that it does so by causing you to passively generate 1 rage per 3 seconds at all times, which is also valuable in combat by giving you a steady trickle of rage.

"Increases the time for rage to decay by 30%" is a really, really awkward way of saying "1 rage per 3 seconds".

It's like if health per 5 second regen was worded as "reduces the time before you die by x%".

The talent tooltip also says "while out of combat", but it gives you rage generation in combat as well as out of combat. So the tooltip is really misleading.
