Which patch introduces the new model epic mounts?

Level 60 mounts purchased at vendors now have a whole new look. The new mounts can be seen standing near the mount vendors.

So it's not the upcoming AQ patch, I guess? I'm a bit confused with the patch numbering, as that would be 1.9, which is higher than 1.4. Are the patches non-sequential?

The upcoming AQ patch is only for the Realm "Anathema"

I have a follow-up question on this topic. Is it possible, on the elysium pvp realm, to buy other races' mounts right now, with the appropriate reputation? If so, is the required reputation revered or exalted? I've heard some different answers on this. I don't want to start farming troll reputation if it turns out I can't buy the mount.

You need exalted.

 

For example on Darrowshire, I bought the Ivory Raptor as undead.

You need exalted but i don't think you can achieve that if you don't start during your leveling because grey quests give far far less reputation (i tried to up Orgrimmar rep and i can't reach exalted even with all quests done).

If you do every reputation quest at the right level then i think it should be ok (Darnassus and Thunder Bluff are exceptions, there's a repeatable quest you can do).

There are lots of repeatable quests for some of the factions:

But for others like the Darkspear trolls you'll need to start at lvl 1 and do every single quest of them.

 

Later on you can just donate runecloth but then only the new mounts are available

Chen's Empty Keg third repeatable part actually don't work on Zeth'Kur, we can't take the quest so mobs don't drop.

It will be great if this is fixed soon as this is the only way to get these unarmored epic wolves before they disappear (thanks a lot Crysthal by the way i didn't know about this quest ^^).
