Do you keep PVP gear if you lose rank

I know in original pre 2.0 honor system if you lose rank you lose the gear. Say rank 14 weapons. In patch 1.6 this changed to where if you lose rank you dont lose the items you've gotten from higher ranks. Like rank 14 weapons and so forth. Does anyone know if on these servers they're going with pre 1.6 way of losing items until patch 1.6 or are they just allowing you to keep items like post 1.6

Yes.

PvP gear goes after your Lifetime Highest rank and not current rank. Both in terms of purchase and equip requirements

If this is true then the Elysium implimented that and its not true blizz like time line which im not complaining. It wasnt until 1.6 or 1.7 they changed that

I mentioned this before and got told I was 100% wrong, but I remember a friend having to regrind for R14 after they reworked the gear and added some new weapons, so he could have the new weapons.

However, I have no problem with the way this server is handling this, as it was a pain in the ass before, this just makes it a little nicer for everyone.

Patch 1.6.0 (12-Jul-2005):

The honor screen now displays a bar indicating how far along your current rank you are (Scout, Private, etc). This will let you know whether you are moving towards your next rank or falling back towards your previous rank from week to week.

There is a new "This Week" section of the Honor tab, which will display PvP accomplishments of the current week.

The "This Session" section of the Honor tab has been changed to "Today", and will now display the entirety of your accomplishments for the day instead of the most recent session.

Honor system reward items with a rank requirement will now require a lifetime "highest rank" of that rank, rather than requiring the character to currently have the required rank.

No, this has always been true. You did not need to maintain your rank to keep your gear on...

At first you did. I am fine with people keeping their gear though, even if it wasn't allowed this early in the release timeline.

You've always been able to keep wearing the gear. Or, at a minimum, the ability to keep wearing the gear was in place when AV was released, which is a matter of one month away on the Elysium timeline.
