Which Q reward to take

Hello, 

I'm new to the game and warlock is my first character i really play .  Atm I 'm lvl 52 and following the guide on top regarding my build . I'm about to do warlock quest chain : "An imp's request" and I can't decide on which reward should I take .  Guide says to take an abyss shard trinket , but I see really conflicting opinions about that and taking staff looks really tempting to me as its big upgrade over what I currently got (Orb of Dar'Orahil + hypnotic blade) . But I'm not really aware of how useful trinket would be in a long run and if I'd replace staff or robe soon enough that its not worth taking them. Any opinions would be helpful .

The quest isn't actually in game yet, no level 50 class quests are 

so if you turn in a fel cloth then youre just throwing away gold until a later patch where the rest of the chain can be continued for the items

The staff is the best choice by a landslide. The trinket is complete shit, not worthy of its vendor value, and the robe has plenty of alternatives, even more so at 60. The staff however is basically uncontested pre 60, and will last a good while at 60 before you get your AV rep up. It also means you could forgo AV for a while and focus on dungeon slots.

Trinket, it's can be handy when you out of shards, you can summ vw command him to stay and run away till he disappear and you get a shard. So it's unique thing, think about that.

Get the trinket mate. You dont wear it its just utility trinket in your bags. Its so insanely usefull because of the free shard. I cant begin to tell you how many times i needed that one shard. Staff will be replaced in 2-3 days it takes to reach exalted in Av. You get so many possibilities for Mh in ZG MC to pair with AV tome. 

Just think about using shadowburn (which every warlock should do) on cd on boss running out of shards wiping and not having shard to make SS. You get shard free from trinket.

 

Tldr.

Staff gets replaced in few days after lvl 60 trinket will provide utility forever.

Rip, already turned in felcloth before opening thread. Had no idea its not in game because guide mentions it and got the Q started with imp asking for the felcloth. Would of picked staff so I wouldn't need the sword from Maraudon and trinked look too much of a niche use.
