Can't get past log on screen

I just downloaded WoW and can get past the launcher, but when I try to log in I keep getting "Disconnected from Server". Any ideas?

By launcher you are referring to what?  Vanilla clients dont use launchers as it wasnt available then.  You are on a 1.12.1 client correct?  Did you change the realmlist as well?

I already changed to: set realmlist logon.elysim-project.org   ... and i still have the same problem. Try to log in and it shows: "Disconnected from server". And i also already checked that is 1.12.1 client.

The launcher included in the 1.12 file. I can use it or the WoW to start the game, but when I'm trying to connect I get that error.

Try this to fix this issue by editing the config file in the WTF folder.

Go into the document and add the following lines.

set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org
SET realmName "Anathema"

This should log you onto the Anathema server, if you do not wish to play on that server, feel free to change the name to the server you wish to join, or just change realms once on the character select screen.

Do i add "SET realmName "Anathema" to the end of the "set reamlist" line like below?

set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org SET realmName Anathema

tried that and got the same error

add it exactly as it is typed out, I believe, on a separate line. I grabbed this from a previous post I had and it seemed to work for some people.

It won't let me add a second line. Evey time I hit enter it sets it as is.

What program are you using to edit your realmlist.wtf file? If you are using Notepad, it should allow you to add a new line (if not, try enabling Word Wrap?). Any other program I am unsure about, but I imagine there is a way to add a second line.

I'm just clicking and renaming. Not using a program.

Tried opening with Notepad, and it would let me add the double line and save, but it ended up looking exactly like i renamed it. Also wouldnt let me in. Same error.

Make a copy and move it to desktop and attempt it that way,

then move new file into the folder after you delete the old file and try that

Tried moving the file to my desktop and changing it there. I was able to open it in Notepad and add the 2ndline below the first, but when I save it saves like before. As if, I didn't have a 2nd line. Also, same error/problem.

Figured it out. When I originally modified the file I renamed it instead of "editing the contents" like the instructions say to do. I think that may have hid the info needed to log into the server. To fix it, I redownloaded the file and edited the contents without changing the name of the file. It worked first time, no issues.
