My client crashes randomly

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've been experiencing occasional crashes for the last few days, and I was wondering if somebody could help me figure out why that is. Here is the error message:

"This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #124 (0x8510007c) Memory Invalid Block
Program:    C:\Games\World of Warcraft 1.12\WoW.exe
File:    E:\build\buildWoW\WoW\Source\WorldClient\MapObjGroup.cpp
Line:    831

SMem3: Pointer does not refer to a valid allocated block of memory

WoWBuild: 5875"

I'm using the Questie addon, and lately it has given me lots of lua errors. Could this addon be a cause of the crashes?

Have you tried playing the game without any addons? If you have, does this error still occur?

On your character select screen if hit the addons button. What is the value displaying at the top right (Memory allocation, I think it's called?) of that addon selection box? You may want to try putting that number at 99 and seeing if that fixes your problem.

Make sure you are using the most up-to-date version if Questie from HERE

Thank you for the reply. I haven't tried disabling all my addons, mainly because I have some addons that I don't want to play without (Luna Unit Frames for instance). This crash also happens very randomly. It has only happened 3 or 4 times during 30+ hours of game time. I now re-downloaded questie from the link that you provided, although I think it's the exact same version. In the worst case I will probably just uninstall questie, and possibly supermacro since it's another addon that sometimes gives me lua errors. No other addons have been acting up though. I'm currently using these addons: Autoprofit, Bagnon, Big Wigs (not sure if this one is working), ccwatch, cdframes, Gatherer, Luna Unit Frames, Super Macro, Super Ignore, XLoot and Questie. Now I increased the memory to 99 (it was 48 previously), let's hope that it helps. Thanks again!

For troubleshooting purposes, you have to see if it happens without addons. Only when you determine that it works fine without them, can you start checking which one is the culprit.

Maybe I'm kind of late but, try to go to the WoW folder -> WTF folder -> Edit the Config.wtf File

Add this line (or edit it if it already exists to) : SET scriptMemory "358400"
