jmul1212 7 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 Correct me if I'm wrong. Searing totem is supposed to assist/defend. Not engage combat. It shouldn't be initiating combat with npcs that you don't have aggro on. It shouldn't be hiting players you aren't in combat with. Grounding totem remains spawned after it gets consumed sometimes. I notice it more commonly with NPCs.
Egregious 1 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 If Grounding Totem does not absorb a spell that applies direct damage and instead intercepts a DoT or other such similar spell, it will not be consumed. It will remain on the ground and, after the 10 second period outlined in the tooltip, it will again be capable of grounding an offensive spell. Searing Totem is not a pet you can put on assist/passive/aggressive, it will attack anything in its radius.

I wasn't asking if you could put it on a pet mode.... I was using the terminology to make a statement. If there is a neutral, but able to be attacked, searing totem shouldn't be hiting it right? If i put it next to critters, it shouldn't hitting them. If i put it next to a zhevra outside Xroads it shouldn't start combat with it. If i hit the zhevra before or after i lay it, the totem should attack. If the Zhevra is patting neutrally it shouldn't attack it.
Egregious 1 Report post Posted May 12, 2017 Yeah, if it's neutral or a critter it shouldn't attack. But it does.
