Error #132

Recommended Posts

Started getting Error 132 today, immediately on launch. I've already tried several of the "solutions" I've found regarding it.

Any ideas?

I tried that last night. It seems the torrent I downloaded is the very same I got months ago. The torrent file is just for a zipped wow directory though so I guess the "download a new install" is a bit confusing. Unless there is a different location I should download it from. I'm using the download link from the elysium wow website.

Since I'm still getting the same error with a new untouched directory, it leads me to believe it's something else on my end unrelated to that, so I updated all of my drivers which didn't help.

I did find a thread from December that mentioned windows 10 having the wrong version of DirectX, so I'll try that when I get home. However, I've been running it on my machine now for a few months and the problem began yesterday,  and between yesterday and the evening before, I made no changes. Possibly a windows update?

Will post back with results this evening.

I would just suggest you try downloading the entire client again. It's entirely possible one of your game files got corrupted somehow.

I have. As I said. The link to download it from the Elysium front page is a torrent of a zipped wow directory. There is no install process.

I'm aware of that. I'm suggesting that you download it again and extract it to a new directory. That's all you need to do to install WoW.

Solved.

Turns out, there was a Windows update on the 16th that I didn't notice. I uninstalled the update as it was the only change made since the issue began, and it works fine.
