Lupos - Still good?

I play on the PVE server Darrowshire

So i tamed Lupos today, was really excited ofc :p

BUT

I was told by a druid that it doesn't do shadow damage anymore. Is this correct, 'cause i have read on another thread that is only the case on Anathema?

It's the case on Anathema. I don't know about Darrowshire or Elysium, but it should tell you in the combat log.

When Ahn'qiraj nears, you can expect your Lupos to no longer do shadow damage, if he even does right now.

If he does, he's pretty awesome. Otherwise, you could keep him for Furious Howl, but you could also consider wind serpents or cats viable alternatives.

Uh lupos is great for a while.  I dunno if he'll get changed next month, but he's definitely worth picking up until the change.

I am using Lupos on Darrowshire - he DOES deal shadow damage, which makes him the highest dps pet in the game currently. This only changes with patch 1.9.0. - you can find the relevant notes here (WoWWiki).

You can expect this patch to come somewhere in the end of 2017 (Oct/Nov).

This means, it's definitely worth taming and leveling Lupos. If you are looking for alternatives, try the ZG serpents, Deathmaw or Brokentooth.
