Forum - upvoting posts.

Since the suggestion to implement an upvote/downvote system got rejected (the reason wasn't stated so I assume it's to avoid players abusing downvotes), I want to make a suggesttion to only implement upvotes, or likes, whatever you call it. 

If I like a post and want to let its author know, it's much more convinient to press a "Like" button than make a separate post about it. 

Like system makes forum a much better place, I don't think anyone would disagree, so please add this.

I'd prefer the upvote/downvote system.  People claim it was abused but in reality the people getting downvoted deserved it and it was awesome to see them complain about getting down voted for trolling/misinformation/condescending posts.

I do agree with you, it's just that if downvotes were the problem, then it would be nice to at least have the simple "Like" system.
