Unless I'm mistaken, there was a note put out stating that they can take up to a week to finish and there was no talk of speeding up the process.

They made the post on wednesday. Many people assumed the transfers would be complete on wednesday and they would be able to play on their chosen server right when the realms went out of maintenance.

The post I said was pretty confusing,but it said something similar, but added that the transfers may take up to a week to complete. If I'm gonna go by either, I'd rather run on the one with the most information on it, or the one with the large range so that I'm not sitting here frustrated by the fact that I can't play my main.

 

Up to a week they said, and I will go with that.

 

They need to reword things to be more specific and not jump the gun on what's not been done.

Not sure what update from them you are talking about....the update I read said "ZK transfers will take at least a day to complete with a goal of being fully complete by the end of the week."

That was from their twitter/Discord ...

End of the week worst case...that is either friday...or sunday...worst case. Like idiots...most of us say 1 day...(wed)...no problem...2nd day (thurs)..great..they screwed up...np problem...3rd day (friday...today)...tell us something at least...glad I dont pay for this.

This is what they said on the forums just after the shutdown on the server happened. I obviously forgot the accurate details, but even still, they gave a range and it's through the end of this week.

Therefore, in my mind, Saturday will be the end of this week.... More specifically, midnight Saturday of whatever time they go by.

 

This, in my mind, is plenty enough information for us to know this could take a while and, sure we can complain about it, as it annoys me too, but I'm not going to be upset about it to the point of making complaints all over the forums, discord and the game itself. This is a project based on volunteer work input, which means there is likely going to be a lot of problems that may not be immediately fixed.

 

Even if it was Blizzard, and we were playing the game. Things happen on those servers... All the time... People complain about them, but they get taken care of eventually. I'm not going to hold them at a ridiculous standard because the range took a bit longer than expected to fix an issue.

Translation - It all depends on when the one person on the staff who knows what he or she is doing gets around to it.

I'm not surprised. Communication and general administration of this project has sucked for a while.

Not a programmer, so can't really help them.  But here are some general communication/management tips:

1. Don't put out conflicting statements.

2. Under-promise, but over-deliver.

When they announced these transfers they said the default realm would be Elysium, and that they would "keep the community posted". We then basically went 2 months with no news about it, and when they finally did announce the implementation,  it wasn't going to be for another 2 weeks and the default realm had been changed to Anathema for "reasons."  So then the transfer process was open for another two weeks, and when the realm was closed they said the transfers "had come to an end". Then we find out they weren't actually over yet, and it will probably be another week before they are actually, really complete.

At no point did they say "oh by the way it's gonna take a week after the realm is closed to finish the transfers." Most people, understandably, though it would happen as soon as the realm was closed. 

So, between the repeated delays and poor communications, you may be able to understand why people are frustrated.

Oh, and by the way, they said the "goal" was to have them finished by the end of the week. It also wouldn't surprise me if it takes them twice that long.

Exactly. Thank god i have a low lvl priest on Elysium already so I'll have something to play even though i didn't really wanna play on him lol.

IzZaGod is absolutely right.

 

People wouldn't be so confused or annoyed by the process if the team had been more clear about what the process will actually be like and what people should expect before the transfer even went underway.

That being said, your post is complaining about complainers, while also telling what they should do. Not cool.
