Hybrid PVE/PVP Class

Anyone can do it. But as I pointed out, you don't even have to. If you don't like it, the solution is to not do it, not beg them into reducing the cost. This is the path to the retail side, where players endlessly asked for everything to be easier/cheaper/faster and Blizzard, not knowing how to say no, just gave them everything, ruining the game and growing a new playerbase of whiny entitled children (everyone else quit). No matter what it's at, someone is going to complain it's too much, and want it to be less, or just free. Today you complain about 50, tomorrow someone complains about 25. Someone will always complain about it, and nothing is accomplished simply by nerfing it. You actually hurt one of the best sinks in the game, while adding nothing to take its place. This fuels something called inflation. Shall we increase the cost of repairs then, in exchange? Where else should the gold go? You want players to sit around on thousands of gold? People asking for the hand out never suggest anything else for it to sink on. I've literally never seen this in history, yet it should be the main attachment to an argument that one should be nerfed or removed.

Players also begged the staff into reducing plant spawn timers, which makes no sense when the playerbase isn't large enough to justify it anymore and in fact has been getting smaller. We needed fast timers back when we had 10-15k online a day, not <1k. If people are hording plants and driving up prices (which they were), that's not the fault nor responsibility of the staff. These custom tweaks done only to shoulder QQ probably just encouraged more people to quit. We didn't come for retail.

Please look on retail. You can sell copper ore stacks for 50g. Supply didnt change. Demand went down. Price goes up because people have more money.

Retail... ye sure lets use example of irrelevant material on 12 year old servers with quests that give like hundreds of gold quest rewards at Legion zones in attempt to create a "rule" that would fit vanilla private realm and could be compared to high end consumables like flasks.

So you agree that when people have more gold to spend items bought from players will cost more gold? Source of income is irrelevant.

No its beside the point because other people (sellers) don't have a means to measure how much gold "people" have on average on vanilla servers. So sure they can go crazy and put flask for 200gold on AH just because they think its worth trying cause they have few friends that would buy it for that much but then again their success of selling it at that price is bound to lack of competition. So it goes both ways. If server is big enough and its easy enough to farm specific goods then economy fixes itself cause people that got it easy to farm same thing will compete with each other by undercutting. If you on the other hand have limited ways to earn gold because A) is nerfed B) is nerfed C) is inefficient gold/hour D) is possible only for specific team / specs then the rest of the people will pick something like farming lotuses and set an arbitrary price on it not depending on how much its actually worth but how much it HAS to be worth so it pays for their expenses becaues its their only way to farm gold.

Just observe what happened with dreamfoil and mountain silverage when they increased spawn rate, it got easier to farm so people that were doing it for money left it because it wasn't anymore worth to compete and world pvp over it when price per stack dropped from 15g to 5-7g. Lotus remained hard capped by respawn time per zone so its price didn't drop, bah, because other herbs lost on their worth people that used to farm them for gold joined the lotus hunters and by increasing competition on farming it lotus just raised in price.

It makes no sense they nerfed farming in instances as its also hardcapped by limit on how much you can do it per hour so it had a control mechanism on its own.

If they were afraid people would go nuts on prices just because they assumed everyone got a lot of gold then they could just increase fees for specific goods at ah to punish jews that would try raise the price bar.
