FriendlyNeighborhoodRogue 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2017 Hello Guys and Girls! :) I played all classes since i started playing WoW in TBC except Rogue - thats why i created one now! :D I got some questions before i hit Level 60: (Yes, i read Oto's Guide! :D) Swords or Daggers? - I read swords are better at the beginning, when should i switch to daggers? (Does it depend on Daggers or Critcap or both) Is there a good hybrid-build for PvE and PvP? - Changings specs will be pretty expensive in vanilla i guess, is there a build that is viable in PvE and PvP? Whats the best non-hybrid build for PvE and PvP when youre fullgeared? (BWL Patch)

(Y/N) Since you can only use those attacks with Daggers, that's pretty much the only reason to equip Daggers, so as to use Ambush as your opening move and/or Backstab once combat is in progress. Since both attacks have a high Energy cost of 60, they aren't exactly something that you can spam constantly. Also, if you're soloing, you're going to need to use Gouge in order to consistently make use of Backstab, simply in order to prevent your target from rotating to face you (so you can stab them in the back, rather than in the front). As a practical matter, Ambush builds demand investment into the Subtlety tree to get the talent in Tier 3. Backstab builds have a less onerous demand for investment in the Combat tree at Tier 2, but that investment is in conflict with Deflection/Riposte at Tiers 2/3 and with Precision at Tier 2. If you don't feel like making that kind of investment is worth it to you, go with Swords instead. Or Maces. Or Fist Weapons. You get the idea ... but most people will tell you to go with Swords because of Sword Specialization at Tier 5 in the Combat tree.

The sword spec hemo is the go-to build and majority use that, it's the closest to leveling up decent and u can PvP with it.So sword main hand and dagger offhand.U use hemo because low energy cost and u can get off your eviscerate+kidney fast. Also sword in main hand so high dmg. Some people go dagger hemo which I think is terrible but yea. Combat sword is good PvE but terrible in PvP cuz no preperation so u are limited however it could be decent , opening with cheap shot+pop off adrenaline rush and get as much dmg u can but difficult if u playing against a decent player.
Escatopoulos 1 Report post Posted August 23, 2017 To simplify things: Combat (swords): will give you maximum flexibility (and arguably DPS) for PvE, either solo or with a tank. It is also (arguably) the most monotonous and the less "rogue style" one. Also good for PvP to keep constant pressure on your target, but not good if you prefer big chunks of damage. Daggers (Subtlety/Assassination): high positional requirement for either PvE and PvP since you need to be behind the target at all times. Very dependant on Stealth and having the opener move on PvP. Also very prone to frustration and anger under laggy conditions / server load. Want to try something different? Try Hemorrage with swords and bleedings, valid for both PvE and PvP, no positional requirements, fast and better Stealth (always enjoyable), and lower energy needs = more active play.
