Lag issues in PVP for users not near server

I tend to play melee class, and like PVP (esp low-level brackets).  My prior experience with other european-based private servers is for melee in particular, lag (connecting from the US) has made melee classes very hard to play.  Other players aren't where you see them on the screen, not in range or not in front of you or not facing away from you (backstab/garrote/ambush etc), etc.  You can see yourself on screen within range/etc.  for seconds and maybe hit them once, the rest being a variety of out of range or not facing right errors.  It was particularly bad on Feenix but I had the same issue on Kronos.

 

I have noticed Elysium seems to have increased what my client shows as melee range (perhaps 5 yards?),   If so, it would help this some of the time.

 

Players in north america - how has this worked for you?

 

As an aside, I have never seen any server (blizzard or otherwise) this full in low-level areas.  it is really something.

I live in North Carolina.  Leveled a Warrior to 60 and have a Rogue at 30 and haven't had any issues with this.

I stopped playing my paladin in PvP because of this.  I was not attacking my target when I was right on top of them way too often and it was extremely aggravating.  It only happens in PvP though.  And still happens as I saw in the brief time that I did an AV yesterday.

I'm pretty close to the server and the lag is absolutely horrible. Tested on several different connections. Same crap. 60 warrior and 60 hunter.
Rest of the world is fine, but bg's are just not worth it.

Depends on the time of day.  If it's during prime hours and the server is at or near max capacity, BG's are absolutely awful.  It gets better later in the day (US time) when it's off-hours for the server.
