Stayhi 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2017 Just started on this server yesterday and I have been loving it so far! I played Vanilla when I was much younger and I did not get to see a lot of content, not even including endgame raids, because well I was a stupid kid. Im hoping this time around ill eventually make it to max level and some endgame content. However because of RL im limited to how much I can play and I know it could take me a long time to get anywhere remotely close to stepping foot in MC. So my question is regarding leveling which I know I will be spending a lot of time doing. I ventured into SW and noticed all the old LFG requests immediately but something was different. Out of like 4 or 5 requests from all varying levels, not a single one was in need of a tank, and I think only one was requesting a healer. Are Tanks and healers not really in demand while leveling like retail has always been? I was hoping with my limited time, id be able to quickly find a group playing a key role. But it seems it may be just as hard to find a healer/tank as it is a DPS...Did I just catch a bunch of LFGs at a weird time? Or is there not really a point to leveling a tank/healer if my intention was to get into certain content quicker? Also, I started to level a warrior knowing it would be difficult. Yet I was under the assumption that druid and paladin lacked far behind warrior. While im reading now that not only can Druids tank effectively in dungeons but they dont even have to respec to also be capable of healing. Is this true? If so, id gladly re roll Druid since I pretty much have not leveled up a Warrior, Warock, or Druid in retail or private. Thanks for any help!
ismeckye 7 Report post Posted July 20, 2017 When you say 4 or 5 requests at various levels obviously 3 to 4 arent maxlevel. At lowlevels there are alot of different classes being able to tank just fine: warrior, druid, paladin. Hell even a shaman in all mail gear with a shield comes up to 45% dmg mitigation and can tank the lowdungeons fine. Still as a warrior you will never have a problem to just start a dungeon. I play warrior and it takes 20seconds to 5mins to make a group. Play at your best and make people want to group with you again. When you play regularly people will stay in your level range and you can hit them up for future runs. I myself have like 25 people for different times I just added after successful and fun runs.
Invictuslol 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2017 I am currently leveling my first character on the Elysium project and am currently level 33 spriest. Tanks arnt that hard to find for content.... But good tanks are rare as rocking horse shit. Sure warriors are main tanks for raiding end game, but druids offtank in raids. Personally I think druids and pallys make better 5man tanks than warriors but maybe that's because I've not grouped with any that good yet? As for healing, if you have heals then you can heal an instance. Druids and paladins need a second gear set with int if your leveling feral/ret. Priests can level as shadow and heal perfectly well (especially if you use Spirit Tap procs to your advantage). Personally I would say roll a druid. They are extremely versatile, strong in groups, strong solo and good for pvp. Level as feral but keep a int/spirit set of gear from quests and boe greens/leather working. You'll be able to tank/heal and dps instances. You'll find raiding spots as a healer mainly but boomkin and feral both have their place in 40 man raids.
