Smoothest 1 Report post Posted July 30, 2017 Is it playable on a competitive level with 300ms locked? No hops or bass. The problem is that I am from South America so save the tips to reduce latency, nothing works u.u Is it really worth trying or not have a way to compete in Arena with this ping?
Stormhart 12 Report post Posted August 1, 2017 You're gonna have a hard time in PvP with that ping, especially if you're playing a melee class. Caster might work, dunno

Although I do not know if it is easier to use a Priest Shadow or a Frost Mage for PvP with 300ms locked.
Drain 19 Report post Posted August 5, 2017 You need <200 for ideal performance. That's what the game was designed for. But in PVE content, you can endure far worse and get by. Back in 2005, rarely did anyone have <200 because internet connections sucked balls and so did the hardware that was running the game. We generally raided with 300-500 ping. PVP was only playable in small battles; city raids crashed realms (forcing the invention of BGs) and AV was unplayable for most. But unless you care about being competitive with top ranks; it doesn't matter.

I know that in Vanilla there is no Arenas, but if in the future they will go to TBC I would like to be able to play inside everything competitively. Do you think that if I adapt to 300ms locked? I mean I do not have ping breaks, they are always the same.
