Recovering Account/characters from pre-Nost-merge

Hello Community,

i was wondering if it is possible to recover my old account from the pre-nost-merge-times?
I stopped playing the game when the big downtime started to merge the datas of the servers (around November 2016) and since then i wasn't in touch with wow in any form.
So, is it still possible to recover my loved Characters from the times back then?
If so, what do i have to do?

Which community was your account with?

If Nostalrius: Not possible unless you merged your account to Elysium when that was offered, in which case the characters will be on your account on the Anathema or Darrowshire realm.

If Elysium: If you had a character on Zeth'Kur it will most likely be on Anathema now, unless you did the quest to pick Darrowshire before the server was shut down.

Your account is most likely still here, if you can't remember the password; Issue a password reset for your account on the web control panel, if you had 2FA enabled and have lost your authentication you will have to request it to be removed here

Hey Belter and Thanks for you Answer.

I played on Elysium and never been in touch with Nostalrius. But "Zeth'Kur" is not familiar to me. As i remember, back then (~10 Month ago), the community here was called "Valkyrie-WoW" and the Server i played on was called Elysium.

I tried to login through the Control Panel with my old account data but it doesn't work so i assume my account doens't exist anymore.

Apparently i played on the old realm Elysium. Is it still possible to get in touch with the accounts from back then and/or the toons?

If you're not able to login to the control panel with your old account info, i'm afraid there isn't much that can be done.

GM's have a very limited ability to restore characters, judging by how old your characters are and the fact that the account they're under might not even exist anymore, i'd say the chances of the staff here being able to restore said characters are virtually zero.

The only recommendation i can think of is to PM a GM on the forum, i recommend @Spionida as he is by far the most active GM on the forum.

Explain the situation, link him this thread and give him your account name as well as your character names, races and classes. He should be able to tell you if the account even exists anymore. Remember to include proof of ownership (Screenshots of you playing one of the characters on that account will usually do.)
