Don't mention THAT server - Auto Mute

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Elysium players!

DO NOT TYPE THE NAME OF THE "OTHER SEVER" (LH) or you may be muted on all characters.

I wanted to relay my experience today in hopes that it will help other veteran players from any of the Elysium servers. Today on opening day of Nighthaven, I was playing my new little druid. I mentioned that my main was on that OTHER server (as she cannot play here currently). Immediately after that I was muted and I could not speak in general, whisper or even /say. This had never happened to me before so I posted on the game issues forum. A GM was kind enough to respond quickly and the problem was resolved, but not before I spent about an hour trying to figure out what was going on.

I saw another player ask in general if anyone had characters on that OTHER server. I immediately whispered him that the server name could not be mentioned. I explained what had happened. When he did not respond, I instructed him that an IN GAME TICKET must be submitted and then he would be unmuted. After about five minutes, he whispered me and confirmed that he too had been immediately muted.

Based on the speed of the mute action, it appears there may be an automated process that immediately mutes any account (not just the character in question) when that name is mentioned. I'm trying to save others the hassle of being muted by making this post. I'm not making waves - I've already applied for a character transfer and hope I can play my fairly geared main on some Elysium server in the future. After all, I've spent 10 months playing here.

I would like to add I have a great deal of empathy for the Elysium staff about what happened. However, for some of us, the forum posts were confusing and unclear. We were instructed to go to that "other" server on the Elysium forums. We did not want to transfer our characters completely off of Elysium, but for lack of better information, that is what many did. That does not mean we are jumping ship. The automatic muting of any account holder who even mentions the word could be a bit extreme, but that's just my two cents worth.

Happy gaming all. Just don't mention that other server.

They said any player is free to choose where to play, but mute or ban for every mention about LH(and they just delete any post they dont like).

Where do you make this ticket? cuz my lvl 6 warrior i just made on Nighthaven also can not chat anymore. But i said nothing of that sort.

One guy in chat said " that quest gave me cancer" so i replied "hope you have some weed to cure that cancer" and after that i could not type anything anymore.

Cant type in World,General,Say or whisper or yell. Nothing works :(

In game, just click on the ? mark down in the bottom bar. Click on the button for ingame issues a GM can help with. I selected environmental from the menu following. You can submit an in game ticket from there. The GM was very quick to unmute me after I submitted (thanks again). Good luck.

We aren't muting players for saying "Light's Hope", there was an issue with the too strict anti-spam rules in general, now it's resolved.

Enjoy your time on Nighthaven.

Thanks for clarifying Shenna. Must have been a really weird coincidence then. Glad the muting problem is fixed, it was definitely difficult to play muted.

Characters below 10 cannot whisper other players. They can however speak in general and /say. When you are muted, you cannot speak at all except in party and perhaps guild, though I was not in a guild when this problem occurred.
